Two vectors in the opposite direction of each other gives the smallest resultant, where as two vector in the same direction gives the largest resultant.

Smallest Resultant: when two vectors, acts in opposite direction (180°) to each other, the resultant of these vector is simply the subtraction of both the vectors, having the direction of largest magnitude vector.

Largest resultant: when two vectors, acts in same direction (0°) to each other, the resultant of these vector is simply the addition of both the vectors, having the same direction as the forming vectors.

Infer whether a system can have kinetic energy and potential energy at the same time
Rasek [7]
Yes, an object can have both of these at the same time. Potential energy is energy that is stored in an object. Kinetic energy is the energy that is associated with motion. So what you have to have is an object that is in motion but still has more energy that it has yet to convert into kinetic energy.

A player at first base catches a throw traveling 38 m/s. The baseball, which has a mass of 0.145 kg, comes to a complete stop in
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

F = 39.36 N

Explanation:

given,

initial speed, u = 38 m/s

final speed, v = 0 m/s

mass of ball = 0.145 Kg

time, t = 0.14 s

Force = ?

using impulse formula

J = change in momentum

J = F x t

m(v - u) = F x t

0.145 x (0 - (-38)) = F x 0.14

F x 0.14 = 5.51

F = 39.36 N

force exerted by the ball is equal to 39.36 N.
