Hello!

To calculate the slope of a line you use the following equation.

\frac{ y_{2}-  y_{1}  }{ x_{2}- x_{1}  }

The ones and twos just represent different points on the line. We will have (0,0) be (x_{1} , y_{1}) and (6,-2) be (x_{2} , y_{2})

Now we will plug these values into the equation.

\frac{-2-0}{6-0} = - \frac{2}{6} =  -\frac{1}{3}

The slope of our line is - \frac{1}{3}

I hope this helps!

What is the midpoint of the x-intercepts of f(x)=(x-2)(x-4
NARA [144]
Well, we know that the x-intercepts are (0,2) and (0,4).  That means that the midpoint is just (0,3)

You can also use the midpoint formula:

M=( \frac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2},\frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2})
