Find the value of a and b

Mathematics
1 answer:
andriy [413]2 years ago
4 0

Answer:

a = 133 degrees

b = 78 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

the top and bottom lines are parallel.

the two sidelines are lines that intercept the top and bottom lines.

as they intercept parallel lines, they actually must have the same angles with them.

so, the 47 degrees inner angle at the bottom line, must be also somewhere at the interception point with the top line. and right, it must be now mirrored the outward angle at the top line. and that means a (the inward angle at the top line) is also the outward angle at the bottom line.

the sum of inward and outward angles at a point must always be 180 degrees.

so, the outward angle of 47 = the inward angle a =

= 180 - 47 = 133 degrees.

similar in the other side.

102 is the inward angle.

the outward angle of that is 180 - 102 = 78 degrees.

and that is also the inward angle b.

b = 78 degrees

What is the length of chord An in Oo below?
Anika [276]

Answer:

12 units

Step-by-step explanation:

In\: \odot O,

  • chords \overline{ML} and \overline{AN} are equidistant (7.2 units) from the center of the circle O.
  • Measures of the chords equidistant from the center of the circle are equal.
  • \therefore m(chord\:\overline{AN}) =m(chord\:\overline{ML})
  • \because m(chord\:\overline{ML}) = 12\: units
  • \therefore m(chord\:\overline{AN}) = 12\: units

Rama09 [41]
It must be noted that the area of the square is calculated through the equation,
                                    A = s²
where A is area and s is the measure of one side of the square.
To determine the measure of one side of the square, we simply have to get the square root of the area,
                                               s = √A
Substituting the known value,
                                                s = √75 ft² = 5√3 ft ≈ 8.66 cm
Thus, the answer to this question is approximately 8.66 cm.

An ice cube weighs 20 grams. How much will it weigh after it melts?
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

= 40.32 cm = 15.87 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Does an ice cube weigh the same when melted? - Quora. , Energy Analyst and “Futurist”. Obviously, the mass of the water is the same as the ice from whence it came, assuming no evaporation. However, the volume shrank as it melted; became more dense, and therefore displaced less air.
