Which statement best compares conduction, convection, and radiation?

Physics

In conduction mode of heat transfer energy is transferred through medium molecules by their vibration about their own position. SO here medium particles remain at their own position while energy is transferred from one point to other

In convection mode of heat transfer the heat is carried by the medium molecules from one place to other. So here medium moles itself transfer with the energy.

In radiation mode heat energy is transferred through electromagnetic waves so there is no medium required for this.

So correct answer is

Convection and conduction transfer thermal energy through matter only, and radiation transfers thermal energy through both matter and empty space.

Why does a balloon filled with the air from your lungs sink to the ground but a balloon filled with Helium floats ?
hoa [83]

Helium is lighter than air from the lungs.

Explanation:

A balloon filled with the air from lungs will sink to the ground but a balloon filled with Helium floats because helium is lighter than air.

Air is a mixture of many gases.

The air from the lungs is predominantly made up of carbon dioxide and water vapor.

 • Gram per mole of carbon dioxide is 44. Water vapor is 18.
 • Compared to helium which is 4, we see that the gas is lighter.
 • Since the gas is lighter, it will float in air.
 • The main component of air around us is nitrogen gas with a gram per mole of 28.
 • A balloon filled with more of air from the lungs weigh more than that will filled air around and even far more than helium gas.
 • This will cause a helium filled balloon to float.

Considering that microwave ovens radiate at 2.45 GHz, how would you respond to the debate
vlada-n [284]
On the off chance that a 2.45 GHz microwave flag is by one means or another radiating from your microwave oven, that is exceptionally perilous and you ought to have it settled or supplanted promptly. A 1000 Watt microwave oven radiating energy into the nearby environment can, contingent upon conditions, make you lose awareness in around 12 to 15 minutes of presentation at a separation of around 10 feet.

A piano of mass 852 kg is lifted to a height of 3.5 m. How much gravitational potential energy is added to the piano? Accelerati
slega [8]

Answer:

29223.6J

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of Piano = 852kg

Height of lifting = 3.5m

Unknown:

Gravitational potential energy = ?

Solution:

The gravitational potential energy of a body can be expressed as the energy due to the position of a body;

 G.P.E = mgh

m is the mass

g is the acceleration due to gravity

h is the height

Now insert the given parameters and solve;

 G.P.E = 852 x 9.8 x 3.5 = 29223.6J

Incandescent light bulbs contain a metallic filament inside. Metallic systems have allowed energy levels in a continuous range o
notka56 [123]

Answer:

Since at 20V most of the photons released are red then when the voltage keeps increasing the hotter the filament will be, therefore the color of light will be bright red.

Explanation:

The higher the energy the more the electrons in the molecules of the object will be excited, and when they de-excite to their ground states they release energy in the form of infrared light. The increase in voltage and higher temperatures make the object release brighter color and sometimes at the highest temperatures +1400 degrees Celsius, the color glows hot white.
