Answer:

The pressure exerted by the brick on the table is 18,933.3 N/m².

Explanation:

Given;

height of the brick, h = 0.1 m

density of the brick, ρ = 19,300 kg/m³

acceleration due to gravity, g = 9.81 m/s²

The pressure exerted by the brick on the table is calculated as;

P = ρgh

P = (19,300)(9.81)(0.1)

P = 18,933.3 N/m²

Therefore, the pressure exerted by the brick on the table is 18,933.3 N/m².

Why is the motion of an athlete moving along the circular path with Constant speed considered to be an accelerated motion?
Strike441 [17]

The speed is changing its direction all the time. There is an acceleration which changes the direction of the speed – that is called centripetal acceleration. Only uniform linear motions are considered to have no acceleration.

This is the general formula for acceleration

a = dv/dt

When calculating dv, you should keep in mind the change in the velocity vector’s direction. You can easily see in a graph that with dt tending to 0 (so the length of the arc covered is also tending to 0), the difference between vectors Vf and V0 has a direction which is perpendicular to velocity (the shorter the arc, the closest the angle is to 90 degrees).

There is a formula (which can be deducted from the previous formula) which allows you to calculate the acceleration:

a = v^2/r

Let’s talk about the units:

v is in m/s

r is in m

so v^2/r

is in (m/s)^2/m = (m^2/s^2)/m = m/s^2

which is the same unit as dv/dt:

dv/dt = (m/s)/s= m/s^2

A planet in elliptical orbit around a star moves from the point in its orbit furthest from the star (A) to the closest point (P)
Virty [35]

Answer:

Zero work done,since the body isn't acting against  or by gravity.

Explanation:

Gravitational force is usually  considered as work done against gravity (-ve) and work by gravity ( +ve ) and also When work isn't done by or against gravity work done in this case is zero.

Gravitational force can be define as that force that attracts a body to any other phyical body or system that have mass.

The planet been considered as our system in this case is assumed to have mass, and ought to demonstrate such properties associated with gravitational force in such system. Such properties include the return of every object been thrown up as a result of gravity acting downwards. The orbiting nature of object along an elliptical part when gravitational force isn't acting on the body and it is assumed to be zero.
