Nuclear energy generates power through fission, which involves splitting uranium atoms to produce energy. The heat released by fission is used to create steam that rotates turbine to generate electricity.
The energy produced by nuclear plants is carbon free but the products formed are radioactive and hence their transportation, storage, and disposal is a big problem. It can not be dumped like normal waste.
