The net force on the cart is 100 N in the direction of its motion, so by Newton's second law we can find the acceleration a applied to it:

100 N = (50 kg) a

a = (100 N) / (50 kg)

a = 2 m/s²

The cart starts at rest and travels a distance of 10 m, so that its final velocity v satisfies

v ² - 0² = 2 (2 m/s²) (10 m)

v ²= 40 m²/s²

and so the cart ends up with kinetic energy

KE = 1/2 m v ² = 1/2 (50 kg) (40 m²/s²) = 1000 J

What is the most violent star death called
gogolik [260]
Hi there!

The most violent star death is a Supernova. This is the massive explosion of a supergiant star as it's fuel source runs out and it can no longer fuse iron at its core safely. This causes the star to swell to unstable sizes until it explodes in a Supernova. The amount of energy that is output during a supernova is equivalent to all the energy our own Sun outputs in its whole lifetime.

at a certain instant an object is moving to the right with speed 1.0 m/s and has a constant acceleration to the left of 1.0 m/s^
chubhunter [2.5K]
For this problem, you would use the equation v=u+at. In this case, u=1 v=0 (when the object is at rest) a=-1
v=u+at
0=1+(-1)t
t=1 second

Answer:

Distance = 16.9 m

Explanation:

We are given;

Power; P = 70 W

Intensity; I = 0.0195 W/m²

Now, for a spherical sound wave, the intensity in the radial direction is expressed as a function of distance r from the center of the sphere and is given by the expression;

I = Power/Unit area = P/(4πr²)

where;

P is the sound power

r is the distance.

Thus;

Making r the subject, we have;

r² = P/4πI

r = √(P/4πI)

r = √(70/(4π*0.0195))

r = √285.6627

r = 16.9 m
