What motivates you to learn physics?

Physics

I guess it's a little different for everyone. Physics ultimately is the study of the universe and every component of it, and physics studies why things are the way they are and characteristics that control the way things act.

For me, I am motivated by my natural curiosity: "why is the sky blue?"... that sorta thing. I want to know the reasons behind phenomena like why the earth spins and how fast a kettle boils if it has X litres of water. Physics, unlike any other discipline, can explain this sort of thing. And for me that's so valuable as in my opinion the way to truly understand the world we live in is to immerse in the physics behind the way things are.

Curiosity and a desire to know why is arguably the best explanation for wanting to learn physics.

As someone in grade 12 doing physics I can tell you that studying physics is extremely rewarding yet extremely challenging and requires a lot of effort to understand concepts. Good luck and any questions PM me :D

Current is constant at all points in a parallel circuit.

True
False
Sergio [31]
This is false. Current is the speed of the charge, 1 amp of current is 1 coulomb per second. So you can imagine the current of a circuit as the current of a river. In a parallel circuit, the river breaks into two separate streams. Some of the water goes down one river, some goes down the other. However, the total amount of water/coulombs never changes. This means that some of the total current will go down one river, and one the other. However, with less coulombs now the current will decrease.

Long story short, since there are two paths, the charge will split and depending on the resistance of each parallel stream a different amount of charge will go down each branch.

A rope is attached to a block. The rope pulls on the block with a force of 240 N, at an angle of 40 degrees to the horizontal (t
Tom [10]

Answer:

X Component is 183.85N

Explanation:

The x component of the force on the block due to the rope;

X = F cos @ where if is the force, @ is the angle mad with the block.

X = F cos @

X = 240 cos 40

Cos 40= 0.7660, so

X = 240 × 0.7660

X component= 183.85N// rounded to two decimal places.
