Answer:

23 L

Explanation:

We'll begin by converting celsius temperature to Kelvin temperature. This can be obtained as follow:

T(K) = T(°C) + 273

Initial temperature (T₁) = 100 °C

Initial temperature (T₁) = 100 °C + 273

Initial temperature (T₁) = 373 K

Final temperature (T₂) = 50.5 °C

Final temperature (T₂) = 50.5 °C + 273

Final temperature (T₂) = 323.5 K

Finally, we shall determine the initial volume of gas. This can be obtained as follow:

Initial temperature (T₁) = 373 K

Final temperature (T₂) = 323.5 K

Final volume (V₂) = 20 L

Initial volume (V₁) =?

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂

V₁ / 373 = 20 / 323.5

Cross multiply

V₁ × 323.5 = 373 × 20

V₁ × 323.5 = 7460

Divide both side by 323.5

V₁ = 7460 / 323.5

V₁ = 23 L

Thus, the original volume of the gas is 23 L

In the balanced reaction below, what is the mole ratio comparing iron (Fe) and oxygen gas (O2)?
zepelin [54]

The given balanced reaction is,

4Fe(s) + 3O_{2}(g) --->2Fe_{2}O_{3} (s)

The stoichiometric coefficients of each element or compound represents the number of moles of that element or compound required for the complete reaction to take place.

The mole ratios of different products and reactants will be:

\frac{Fe}{O_{2}} = \frac{4 mol Fe}{3 mol O_{2}}

\frac{Fe}{Fe_{2}O_{3}} = \frac{4 mol Fe}{2 Fe_{2}O_{3}}

\frac{O_{2}}{Fe_{2}O_{3}} =\frac{3 mol O_{2}}{2molFe_{2}O_{3}}

So the mole ratio comparing iron (Fe) and oxygen gas (O_{2}) is

4 : 3

Food molecules contain biochemical energy which is made available by
Juliette [100K]

Food molecules contain biochemical energy which is made available by a process called respiration.

 Respiration is the process within cells by which living things break down food chemicals in their bodies and use them as a source of energy.

The proteins, lipids and polysaccharides that make up most of the food we eat must be broken down into smaller molecules before our cells can use them either as a source of energy or as building blocks for other molecules. This process is named catabolism and occurs in 3 stages.

Stage 1 is the enzymatic breakdown of food molecules in the digestion process  into their monomer subunits- amino acids, glucose and glycerol.

Stage 2 is the process of glycolysis where each molecule of glucose is converted to pyruvate.

Stage 3 is production of ATP,  the form of energy needed by the body to function. This stage takes place in the mitochondria of the cells. ATP is produced from conversion of pyruvate to acetylCoA in a process called the Citric Acid Cycle.

Dimensional analysis can only be used for time, distance, mass, speed, volume, and chemical quantities.
cupoosta [38]

Dimensional analysis can only be used for time, distance, mass, speed, volume, and chemical quantities: False.

<h3>What is dimensional analysis?</h3>

A dimensional analysis can be defined as an analysis of the relationships that exist between different physical quantities by identifying their fundamental (base) quantities, especially for the purpose of inferences.

Dimensional analysis is also referred to as unit-factor method or factor-label method and it is typically used to convert a different type of unit to another.

Generally, dimensional analysis can only be used for the following physical quantities:

  • Time
  • Distance
  • Mass
  • Volume
  • Speed

In conclusion, a dimensional analysis cannot be used for chemical quantities such as a mole i.e it has no dimensional formula.

For a material that contains n atoms, how many electron states will there be in a p band
Sveta_85 [38]
Number of states present in each band will be equal to total of all the states contributed by N atoms.

For instance, s band will contain N states.

Similarly, a p band will contain 3N states.

A coin collector has a bag of 50 pennies. What is the percent abundance of the post-1982 pennies? ASAP ANSWER PLS.
Novosadov [1.4K]

The percent abundance of the post-1982 pennies is 56%.

<h3>What is percent abundance?</h3>

Percent abundance is the percentage amount of all naturally occurring isotopes of an element.

<h3> Percent abundance of the post-1982 pennies</h3>

The percent abundance of the post-1982 pennies is calculated as follows;

percent abundance = number of  post-1982 pennies / total number of pennies x 100%

percent abundance =  (28) / (50) x 100%

percent abundance =  56%

Thus, the percent abundance of the post-1982 pennies is 56%.
