How would you explain this methodology and could you identify the independent, dependent, control variables, how would you defen

d the validity and reliability of the variables, and what is the testable hypothesized relationship between the independent and dependent variable?
Data and Dependent Variable

We collected data for 145 countries over the time period 1970-2000.16 The data are structured in terms of country-year observations and, after dropping 72 such cases for which we do not have any information on the migration data (discussed below), our sample comprises 3,919 country-years.17 For the dependent variable, we rely on the information in the Global Terrorism Database (GTD) that defines terrorism as “the premeditated use or threat to use violence by individuals or subnational groups against noncombatants in order to obtain a political or social objective through the intimidation of a large audience beyond that of the immediate victims” (Enders, Sandler and Gaibulloev, 2011, p.321). This data set provides a count variable on the number of terrorist attacks – both national and transnational – that occurred within a country’s geographic boundaries.18 We use a modified version of the count variable of terrorist attacks: due to the skewed distribution of the number of terrorist attacks in a country, which is primarily driven by the large number of zeros in the data, and since our estimators require a (quasi-) continuous dependent variable, we take the natural logarithm of the count after adding the value of 1 (to avoid calculating the log of 0.

Which of the following shows that ABCD is a parallelogram for x=6 and y =8? (20 points)
Reika [66]

Answer:

AB = CD = 44 and BC = AD = 31 ; so ABCD is a parallelogram

Step-by-step explanation:

A parallelogram should have two pairs of parallel sides meaning the length of side AB should be the same as the length of side CD and the length of side AD should be the same as the length of side BC.

First, lets see if line AB is parallel to line CD.

Let's start by finding out the length of line AB.

Since we know x = 6 we will replace x with 6 in the expression:

7(6) + 2 = 42 + 2 = 44

Now that we know the length of line AB is 44, lets find the length of line CD by replacing x with its value of 6:

9(6) - 10 = 54 - 10 = 44

Now that we know the length of line CD is 44, we can see that line AB is parallel to line CD since they both have the same length of 44.

Now, lets see if line BC is parallel to line AD.

Let's start by finding out the length of line BC.

Since we know y = 8 we will replace y with 8 in the expression:

3(8) + 7 = 24 + 7 = 31

Now that we know the length of line BC is 31, lets find the length of line AD by replacing y with its value of 8:

5(8) - 9 = 40 - 9 = 31

Now that we know the length of line AD is 31, we can see that line BC is parallel to line AD since they both have the same length of 31.

Conclusion

ABCD is a parallelogram because it contains two parallel sides.

A recipe for French toast that serves 6 calls for 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup of evaporated milk, 1/3 teaspoon of vanilla, a
maxonik [38]
To serve 3 you half the recipe so divide each number by 2

3/4 cup/2 = 3/8 cup granulated sugar

1 cup/2 = 1/2 cup of evaporated milk

1/3teaspoon/2 = 1/6 teaspoon of vanilla

12 slices/2 = 6 slices of French bread

In the attachement, there is what I came up with so far. I think that finding 'a' is non-trivial, if possible at all.

A_c - the area of a circle

A_{cs} - the area of a circular segment

The students at Midtown Middle school sold flowers as a fundraiser in September and October. In October, they charged $1.50 for
lions [1.4K]

In the question it is given that,

The students at Midtown Middle school sold flowers as a fundraiser in September and October. In October, they charged $1.50 for each flower

And the October price was a 20% increase of the September price.

Let the price of the flower in October be $x

So we have

x+ \frac{20}{100}x = 1.50 \\ \frac{120x}{100} = 1.50 \\ x = \frac{1.50*100}{120} = 1.25

So the price of the flower in Septembet is $1.25 .
