Answer:

10-5x=3\left(x-4\right)-2\left(x+7\right)

3\left(x-4\right)-2\left(x+7\right)

combine like terms:-

=3x-12-2x-14

3x-2x=x

=x-12-14

Subtract -12 -14

=x-26

10-5x=x-26

Subtract 10 from both sides:-

-5x=x-36

Now, subtract x from both sides:-

-5x-x=x-36-x

-6x=-36

Divide both sides by -6:-

\frac{-6x}{-6}=\frac{-36}{-6}

x=6

Answer:

x=6

Step-by-step explanation:

10-5x=3(x-4)-2(x+7)

Distribute

10-5x=3x-12-2x14

Combine like terms

10-5x = x-26

add 5x to each side

10-5x+5x = x+5x-26

10 = 6x-26

Add 26 to each side

10+26 = 6x-26+26

36 = 6x

Divide by 6

36/6 = 6x/6

6 =x

Suppose a 5x8 coefficient matrix for a system has pivot columns. Is the system consistent? Why and Why not?
Lyrx [107]

Step-by-step explanation:

All the 5 rows of the coefficient matrix (since it is of order 5×8) will have a pivot position. The augmented matrix obtained by adding a last column of constant terms to the 8 columns of the coefficient matrix will have nine columns and will not have a row of the form [0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1]. So the system is consistent.

Item 4 Find the median, first quartile, third quartile, and interquartile range of the data. 132,127,106,140,158,135,129,138 med
Ket [755]

Answer:

133.5, 127.5, 139.5, 12

Step-by-step explanation:

order data:

106, 127, 129, 132, 135, 138, 140, 158

Median:

The middle number: (8+1)/2 = 4.5 between the 4&5 numbers

= (135-132)/2= 1.5

1.5 + 132 = 133.5

lower quartile (1st quartile):

(8+1)/4 = 2.25 between the 2&3 numbers

(129+127)/4=0.5

0.5+127 = 127.5

upper quartile(3rd quartile):

(8+1)/4 x3 = 6.75 between the 6&7 numbers

(140-138)/4 x3 = 1.5

1.5 + 138 =139.5

Interquartile range:

139.5-127.5= 12

hope this helps

find two consecutive even numbers such that the sum of 3 times the smaller and 5 times the larger is 106
VARVARA [1.3K]
To find that you would do (such that x is the unknown) 3x+5(x+2)=106
and if you do this you will find that x=12

so the two numbers you are looking for are 12 and 14

Picture shows the question. Please help!
zhenek [66]
Using the picture, we know (2x+6)+(5x-3)=24. Simplify to find x.

7x+3=24
7x=21
x=3

We know AB=2x+6, and x=3. Plug 3 in for x.
AB=2(3)+6.
AB=6+6
AB=12
