Answer:

10-5x=3\left(x-4\right)-2\left(x+7\right)

3\left(x-4\right)-2\left(x+7\right)

combine like terms:-

=3x-12-2x-14

3x-2x=x

=x-12-14

Subtract -12 -14

=x-26

10-5x=x-26

Subtract 10 from both sides:-

-5x=x-36

Now, subtract x from both sides:-

-5x-x=x-36-x

-6x=-36

Divide both sides by -6:-

\frac{-6x}{-6}=\frac{-36}{-6}

x=6

Answer:

x=6

Step-by-step explanation:

10-5x=3(x-4)-2(x+7)

Distribute

10-5x=3x-12-2x14

Combine like terms

10-5x = x-26

add 5x to each side

10-5x+5x = x+5x-26

10 = 6x-26

Add 26 to each side

10+26 = 6x-26+26

36 = 6x

Divide by 6

36/6 = 6x/6

6 =x

Solve for x in this equation: 3/4+ |5-x| = 13/4
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

  x = 2.5 or 7.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Subtract 3/4.

  |5 -x| = 10/4 = 2.5

This resolves to two equations:

  • 5 -x = 2.5   ⇒   x = 5 -2.5 = 2.5
  • 5 -x = -2.5   ⇒   x = 5 +2.5 = 7.5

The solutions are x = 2.5 or 7.5.

A bag contains 6 blue balls, 3 green balls and 3 yellow balls. What is the probability of choosing one blue ball and then a yell
EastWind [94]
Prob(first ball being  blue) =  6 / (6 + 3 + 3) = 6/12 = 1/2
Prob ( picking a yellow ball) = 3 /12 = 1/4

As the 2 events are independent the probabilities are multiplied
So the answer is 1/2 * 1/4 = 1/8

Find the volume of the solid formed by rotating the region bounded by the given curves about the indicated axis. Y = 1x, y = 1,
Goryan [66]

The disk method will only involve a single integral. I've attached a sketch of the bounded region (in red) and one such disk made by revolving it around the y-axis.

Such a disk has radius x = 1/y and height/thickness ∆y, so that the volume of one such disk is

π (radius) (height) = π (1/y)² ∆y = π/y² ∆y

and the volume of a stack of n such disks is

\displaystyle V_n = \sum_{i=1}^n \pi {y_i}^2 \Delta y

where y_i is a point sampled from the interval [1, 5].

As we refine the solid by adding increasingly more, increasingly thinner disks, so that ∆y converges to 0, the sum converges to a definite integral that gives the exact volume V,

\displaystyle V = \lim_{n\to\infty} V_n = \int_1^5 \frac{\pi}{y^2} \, dy

V = -\dfrac\pi y\bigg|_{y=1}^{y=5} = \boxed{\dfrac{4\pi}5}

What transformation is shown below?
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

it's a translation

Step-by-step explanation:

it just moved (3,0). If it were a rotation the y-axis wouldn't be the same. If it were a reflection you would be able to flip the blue triangle onto the red triangle.
