A 5.7 kg particle starts from rest at x = 0 and moves under the influence of a single force Fx = 4.5 + 13.7 x − 1.5 x 2 , where

Fx is in Newtons and x is in meters. Find the work done by this force on the particle as the particle moves from x = 0 m to x = 1.9 m. Answer in units of J.

Answer:

The work done by the force on the particle is 29.85 J.

Explanation:

The work is given by:

W = ^{x_{2}}_{x_{1}}\int F_{x} dx

Where:

x₁: is the lower limit = 0 m

x₂: is the upper limit = 1.9 m

Fₓ: is the force in the horizontal direction =  (4.5 + 13.7x - 1.5x²)N

W = ^{1.9}_{0}\int (4.5 + 13.7x - 1.5x^{2}) dx

W = 4.5x|^{1.9}_{0} + \frac{13.7}{2}x^{2}|^{1.9}_{0} - \frac{1.5}{3}x^{3}|^{1.9}_{0}

W = 4.5N(1.9 m) + \frac{13.7N}{2}(1.9 m)^{2} - \frac{1.5N}{3}(1.9 m)^{3}

W = 4.5N(1.9 m) + \frac{13.7N}{2}(1.9 m)^{2} - \frac{1.5N}{3}(1.9 m)^{3}

W = 29.85 J

Therefore, the work done by the force on the particle is 29.85 J.

I hope it helps you!

illustrates an Atwood's machine. Let the masses of blocks A and B be 6.00 kg and 3.00 kg , respectively, the moment of inertia o
Elanso [62]

Answer:

The magnitude of the linear acceleration of block A is 1.21 m/s² in downward.

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of block A = 6.00 kg

Mass of block B = 3.00 kg

Moment of inertia = 0.220 kg.m²

Radius = 0.120 m

Suppose we need to find the the magnitude of the linear acceleration of block A

Let a is the acceleration of the blocks.

Let T_{a} and T_{b} are the tension in the A and B cord.

According to figure,

We need to calculate the magnitude of the linear acceleration of block A

Net force acting on block A,

F_{A}=m_{A}g-T_{A}

m_{A} a=m_{A}g-T_{A}

T_{A}=m_{A}g-m_{A}a...(I)

Net force acting on block B,

F_{B}=T_{B}-m_{B}g

m_{B}a=T_{B}-m_{B}g

T_{B}=m_{B}a+m_{B}g...(II)

Net torque acting on pulley

T_{net}=I\times\alpha

T_{A}r-T_{B}r=I\times \dfrac{a}{r}

T_{A}-T_{B}=I\times\dfrac{a}{r^2}

m_{A}g-m_{A}a-(m_{B}g+m_{B}a)=I\times\dfrac{a}{r^2}

g(m_{A}-m_{B})-a(m_{A}+m_{B})=I\times\dfrac{a}{r^2}

g(m_{A}-m_{B})=I\times\dfrac{a}{r^2}+a(m_{A}+m_{B})

g(m_{A}-m_{B})=a(\dfrac{I}{r^2}+(m_{A}+m_{B}))

a=\dfrac{g(m_{A}-m_{B})}{(\dfrac{I}{r^2}+(m_{A}+m_{B}))}

Put the value into the formula

a=\dfrac{9.8\times(6.00-3.00)}{\dfrac{0.220}{(0.120)^2}+(6.00+3.00)}

a=1.21\ m/s^2

Hence, The magnitude of the linear acceleration of block A is 1.21 m/s² in downward.

The kinetic energy of a moving object depends on its mass and its
mr Goodwill [35]

Answer:

Velocity

Explanation:

Kinetic Energy of a body can be defined as the amount work needed to accelerate a body of  mass, m, from a position of rest to a particular velocity.

It is also the energy possessed by a body due to its motion.

Mathematically, it is given as:

KE = \frac{1}{2}mv^2

As seen from the formula, the Kinetic energy is dependent on the mass of the body, m, and the square of the velocity, v.

Typically, the mass of an object is a constant value, hence, the kinetic energy varies as velocity varies.

Two ways biodyversity is valuable
VMariaS [17]
Biodiversity*

Without biodiversity an ecosystem is impossible and all organisms would have to rely on outside sources for energy, in our case the sun would be the only way to survive.

We also rely on biodiversity to create varying habitats, which is not actually necessary for survival but is valuable to humans since we crave identity and if everything were identical we would break down physiologically
