What are the structures and functions of the parts of the reproductive system and excretory system?
Whitepunk [10]
The primary reproductive organs are the gonads, which produce the gametes and hormones. The secondary, or accessory, structures transport and sustain the gametes and nurture the developing offspring. Organs of excretion include the skin , liver , large intestine , lungs , and kidneys (see Figure 16.2. 2). Together, these organs make up the excretory system . They all excrete wastes, but they don't work together in the same way that organs do in most other body systems.

Why do you think athletes often eat lots of carbohydrates the day before a competition?
Dmitriy789 [7]
Carbohydrates are in place of simple sugars and complex carbs which either are quick energy or stored energy for performance.  Without carbs, the body will shut down because you need sufficient energy to keep going.  Carbs are what keeps you moving and functioning.
