Answer : Art conservation requires minute study for the properties of a painting before it undergoes a repair work as it may help the scientist to predict the cause of damage and the areas will be identified and accordingly the damage repair work can be started off. To maintain the overall integrity of the painting intact it needs to be studied well. For repairs to be more discrete and less obstructive it has to be inspected well so that the authenticity of the painting is not lost.

lukranit [14]

Answer: The increasing wavelength of colors:

Red > Green > Blue

Explanation:

Wavelength: This is the property of wave which includes the distance between two consecutive crests or trough. This is denoted by the Greek letter Lambda and it is found by dividing the velocity of the wave with its frequency.

Wavelength of colours are

Violet: 400 - 420 nm

Indigo: 420 - 440 nm

Blue: 440 - 490 nm

Green: 490 - 570 nm

Yellow: 570 - 585 nm

Magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2): g/mol Iron(III) oxide (Fe2O3): g/mol
steposvetlana [31]

Molecular mass of Mg(OH)2

= Atomic mass of Mg + 2(Atomic mass of O) + 2(Atomic mass of H)

= 24 g/mol + 2(16 g/mol) + 2(1 g/mol )

= 58 g/mol

Molecular mass of Fe2O3

= 2(Atomic mass of Fe) + 3(Atomic mass of O)

= 2(56 g/mol) + 3(16 g/mol)

= 160 g/mol
