Answer : Art conservation requires minute study for the properties of a painting before it undergoes a repair work as it may help the scientist to predict the cause of damage and the areas will be identified and accordingly the damage repair work can be started off. To maintain the overall integrity of the painting intact it needs to be studied well. For repairs to be more discrete and less obstructive it has to be inspected well so that the authenticity of the painting is not lost.

The pressure in car tires is often measured in pounds per square inch ( lb/in.2 ), with the recommended pressure being in the ra
Goshia [24]

when we convert 32.5 lb/in² to atmosphere, the result obtained is 2.21 atm

<h3>Conversion scale</h3>

14.6959 lb/in² = 1 atm

<h3>Data obtained from the question</h3>
  • Pressure (in lb/in²) = 32.5 lb/in²
  • Pressure (in ATM) =?

<h3>How to convert 32.5 lb/in² to atm</h3>

14.6959 lb/in² = 1 atm

Therefore

32.5 lb/in² = 32.5 / 14.6959

32.5 lb/in² = 2.21 atm

Thus, 32.5 lb/in² is equivalent to 2.21 atm

How many kilojoules are released when 8.2 g of water condenses at 100 °c and cools to 15 °c?
MrRa [10]

Answer:- 2.92 kJ of heat is released.

Solution:- We have water at 100 degree C and it's going to be cool to 15 degree C.

So, change in temperature, \Delta T = 15 - 100 = -85 degree C

mass of water, m = 8.2 g

specific heat of water, c = 4.184\frac{J}{^0C.g}

The equation used for solving this type of problems is:

q=mc\Delta T

Let's plug in the values in the equation and solve it for q which is the heat energy:

q = (8.2)(4.184)(-85)

q = -2916.248 J

They want answer in kJ. So, let's convert J to kJ and for this we divide by 1000.

q=-2916.248J(\frac{1kJ}{1000J})

q = -2.92 kJ

Negative sign indicates the heat is released. So, in the above process of coiling of water, 2.92 kJ of heat is released.

Calculate the ph of a solution formed by mixing 200.0 ml of 0.30 m hclo with 300.0 ml of 0.20 m kclo. the ka for hclo is 2.9 × 1
masha68 [24]

Answer:

The pH of the solution will be 7.53.

Explanation:

Dissociation constant of KClO=K_a=2.8\times 10^{-8}

Concentration of acid in 1 l= 0.30 M

Then in 200 ml = 0.30 M\times 0.200 L=0.06 M

The concentration of acid, HClO=[acid]= 0.006 M

Concentration of salt in 1 L = 0.20 M

Then in 300 ml = 0.20 M\times 0.300 L=0.06 M

The concentration of acid, KClO=[salt]= 0.006 M

The pH of the solution will be given by formula :

pH=pK_{a}^o+\log\frac{[salt]}{[acid]}

pH=-\log[2.8\times 10^{-8}]+\frac{[0.06 M]}{[0.06 M]}

The pH of the solution will be 7.53.
