Even though one would think that we are eating more fat than fibre in the current age on account of the obesity levels that we currently have, the opposite is actually true. Humans are generally eating more fibre and less than the past.

This is down to better farming techniques that provide a wider variety of food than humans had available to them in the past and a lot of that variety includes food that are high in fiber.
