All you are doing for these problems is plugging in your given x value into the equation given in the answer choices and seeing if you get the answer for “y” given in the table.

Answer:

For the first table:

A) y=5x-3 (plug in -6 in place of x and see if you get -33. Do the same for 3,9,-4,-5)

y=5(-6)-3=-30-3=-33

y=5(3)-3=15-3=12

y=5(9)-3=45-3=42

y=5(-4)-3=-20-3=-23

y=5(-5)-3=-25-3=-28

Your answer for the first image is A) y=5x-3

For the second image: (plug in 4 in place of x and see if you get 26. Do the same for -2,1,8,-3)

y=6x-2

y=6(4)-2=20-2=18 WRONG it should be 26

y= 6x+2

y=6(4)+2=24+2=26

y=6(-2)+2=-12+2=-10

y=6(1)+2=6+2=8

y=6(8)+2=48+2=50

y=6(-3)+2=-18+2=-16

Answer for image 2 is B) y=6x+2
