Suppose an event is measured to be at a = (0,-2, 3, 5) in one reference frame. Find the components of this event in another refe
LenaWriter [7]

Answer:

The components of the moving frame is (8.07c, -2, 3, 9.493)

Solution:

As per the question:

Velocity of moving frame w.r.t original frame v_{m} 0.85c

Point 'a' of an event in one reference frame corresponds to the (x, y, z, t) coordinates of the plane

a = (0, - 2, 3, 5)

Now, according the the question, the coordinates of moving frame, say (X, Y, Z, t'):

New coordinates are given by:

X = \frac{x - v_{m}t}{\sqrt{1 - \frac{v_{m}^{2}}{c^{2}}}}

X = \frac{0 - 0.85c\times 5}{\sqrt{1 - \frac{(0.85c)^{2}}{c^{2}}}}

X = 8.07 c

Now,

Y = y = - 2

Z = z = 3

Now,

t' = \frac{t - \frac{vx}{c}^{2}}{\sqrt{1 - (\frac{v}{c})^{2}}}

t' = \frac{5 - 0}{\sqrt{1 - (\frac{0.85c}{c})^{2}}} = 9.493 s

An ice cube at 0c was dropped into 30.0 g of water in a cup at 45.0c. at the instant that all of the ice was melted, the tempera
Ede4ka [16]
The amount of heat given by the water to the block of ice can be calculated by using
Q=m_w C_{sw} \Delta T_w
where
m_w = 30 g is the mass of the water
C_{sw}=4.18 J/(g ^{\circ}C) is the specific heat capacity of water
\Delta T_w = 45.0^{\circ}-19.5^{\circ}C = 20.5^{\circ}C is the variation of temperature of the water.

Using these numbers, we find
Q=(30 g)(4.18 J/(g^{\circ}C))(20.5^{\circ}C)=2571 J

This is the amount of heat released by the water, but this is exactly equal to the amount of heat absorbed by the ice, used to melt it into water according to the formula:
Q = m_i L_f
where m_i is the mass of the ice while L_f =334 J/g is the specific latent heat of fusion of the ice.
Re-arranging this formula and using the heat Q that we found previously, we can calculate the mass of the ice:
m_i =  \frac{Q}{L_f}= \frac{2571 J}{334 J/g} =7.7 g

A 360-N child is in a swing that is attached to a pair of ropes 1.90 m long. Find the gravitational potential energy of the chil
Igoryamba

Answer:

684J

Explanation:

So basically the formula for gravitational potential energy is Mass X Gravity X height. That is G.p.e = mgh

We don't have the mass but since we have the height, we multiply directly with the height since the quantity of weight is already given.

so G.p.e = 360 X 1.9 = 684J

Note that; The answer is in joules because g.p.e is work done.

Hope that was helpful!!
