Let
E----------------> angle of elevation
D----------------> angle of depression
we know that
E=(3x+1)
D=2(x+8)
remember that
angle of elevation is equals to angle of depression------> by alternate angles
then
E=D
(3x+1)=2(x+8)-----------> 3x+1=2x+16----------> 3x-2x=16-1-----> x=15
E=3*15+1-------> 46°
D=2*15+16-----> 46°

the answer is
the measure of angle of elevation and angle of depression is 46°

The graph of y = |2 is shifted to the left by 6 units.<br> What is the equation of the new graph?
Tasya [4]

Answer:

From your question, I am assuming you are talking about an absolute value graph. In this case the answer would be y = |2 + 6|

Step-by-step explanation: Always remember, when you are graphing absolute value graphs:

When you shift left or right, you put the amount you are shifting inside the absolute value sign.

When you are shifting up or down, you put the amount you are shifting outside the absolute value sign.

When shifting left on a graph, you usually think of subtraction. However, when dealing with absolute value graphs, when you are shifting left, you use addition, as you can see in this problem.

The same goes for right. You use subtraction when shifting right, contrary to what you may think.

However, when you go up, you still use addition, and when you shift down, you still use subtraction.

yes i agree because if all the integers are positive, the answer stays positive which means if you know your integer rules: a positive divide by a positive it stays positive. its the same thing for all the other operations. hope this helps.

Goryan [66]

Answer:

9. a_n=7+6n

10. a_n=a_{n-1}+7

Step-by-step explanation:

9. Given the sequence

13, 19, 25, ...

In this sequence,

a_1=13\\ \\a_2=19\\ \\a_3=25\\ \\...

Note that

a_2-a_1=19-13=6\\ \\a_3-a_2=25-19=6,

then the common difference in this sequence is d=6

You have

a_1=13\\ \\d=6,

then the explicit formula is

a_n=a_1+(n-1)d\\ \\a_n=13+(n-1)\cdot 6\\ \\a_n=13+6n-6\\ \\a_n=7+6n

10. Given the sequence

-10,-3, 4, 11, ...

In this sequence,

a_1=-10\\ \\a_2=-3\\ \\a_3=4\\ \\a_4=11\\ \\...

Note that

a_2-a_1=-10-(-3)=-10+3=-7\\ \\a_3-a_2=-3-4=-7\\ \\a_4-a_3=11-4=7,

then the common difference in this sequence is d=7

You have

a_1=-10\\ \\d=7,

then the recursive formula is

a_n=a_{n-1}+d\\ \\a_n=a_{n-1}+7
