poizon [28]

Answer:

286.7 m

Explanation:

So we are assuming the PE of the falcon is converted to KE

KE = PE

1/2 (.480)(75)^2 = .480 (9.81)(h )    solve for h = 286.7 m

A sprinter reaches his maximum speed in 2.6 seconds from rest with constant acceleration. He then maintains that speed and finis
Delvig [45]

Answer: maximum speed vmax = 11.42m/s

Explanation:

Given that the sprinter maintained constant acceleration during the first 2.6 seconds.

a = vmax/ta .......1

The distance covered during the acceleration period is;

da = 0.5a(ta)^2 .....2

Substituting equation 1 to 2

da = 0.5(vmax/ta)(ta)^2 = 0.5vmax(ta) .....3

The distance covered during the period of constant speed vmax is;

dv = vmax (tv) ......4

The total distance travelled is

d = da + dv = 100 (Given)

da + dv = 100 ......5

Substituting equation 3 and 4 into 5

0.5vmax(ta) + vmax(tv) = 100

vmax ( 0.5ta +tv) = 100

vmax = 100/(0.5ta + tv) ....6

But,

t = ta + tv

tv = t - ta .......7

Substituting equation 6 into equation 7

vmax = 100/(0.5ta + t - ta)

vmax = 100/(t-0.5ta)

t = 10.06 s

ta = 2.6 s

Substituting the values;

vmax = 100/(10.06 -0.5(2.6))

vmax = 11.42m/s

Note:

ta = acceleration time

tv = constant velocity vmax time

t = overall time

da , dv and d = acceleration, constant velocity and overall distance covered respectively.

Depict the following path: You drive 14 blocks East, 7 blocks North, and 2 blocks West. Use the vertex of the graph (coordinates
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

Displacement = 12\hat{i} +7\hat{j}

Magnitude of displacement = 13.89 units

Angle of displacement = 30.26°

Explanation:

Mark the co-ordinates of each of the end points of the vectors.

The marked co-ordinates are shown below.

Displacement is the shortest distance between two points. Here, displacement between the starting and end points is the vector \overrightarrow{OA}.

Displacement vector for a point A(x,y) from origin O is given as:

\overrightarrow{OA}=(x-0)\hat{i}+(y-0)\hat{j}

Magnitude is given as:

|\overrightarrow{OA}|=\sqrt{x^{2}+y^{2}}

Direction of the vector is given as:

\theta=tan^{-1}\frac{y}{x}

Therefore, displacement vector is:

\overrightarrow{OA}=(12-0)\hat{i}+(7-0)\hat{j}\\ \overrightarrow{OA}=12\hat{i}+7\hat{j}

Magnitude of displacement is given as:

|\overrightarrow{OA}|=\sqrt{x^{2}+y^{2}}\\ |\overrightarrow{OA}|=\sqrt{12^{2}+7^{2}}\\ |\overrightarrow{OA}|=\sqrt{144+49}\\\\ |\overrightarrow{OA}|=13.89

Angle of displacement is:

tan\theta=\frac{y}{x} =\frac{7}{12}\\\theta=tan^{-1}(\frac{7}{12})

\theta=30.26°
