Answer:

-0.34m/s

Explanation

According to the law of conservation of momentum

m1u1 +m2 u2 = (m1+m2)v

m1 and m2 are the masses

u1 and u2 are the initial velocities

v s the common velocity

Given

m1 = 1.5kg

m2 = 5.2kg

u1 = 2.3m/s

u2 = -1.1m/s (left direction)

Required

Final velocity v of the ball

Substitute into the formula

1.5(2.3)-5.2(1.1) = (1.5+5.2)v

3.46-5.72 = 6.7v

-2.26 = 6.7v

v = -2.26/6.7

v = -0.34m/s

Hence the final velocity of the bowling ball is 0.34m/s towards the left

What from the following list of statements about vectors is definitely true? (section 3.3) The magnitude of a vector can be smal
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

"Magnitude of a vector can be zero only if all components of a vector are zero."

Explanation:

"The magnitude of a vector can be smaller than length of one of its components."

Wrong, the magnitude of a vector is at least equal to the length of a component. This is because of the Pythagoras theorem. It can never be smaller.

"Magnitude of a vector is positive if it is directed in +x and negative if is is directed in -X direction."

False. Magnitude of a vector is always positive.

"Magnitude of a vector can be zero if only one of components is zero."

Wrong. For the magnitude of a vector to be zero, all components must be zero.

"If vector A has bigger component along x direction than vector B, it immediately means, the vector A has bigger magnitude than vector B."

Wrong. The magnitude of a vector depends on all components, not only the X component.

"Magnitude of a vector can be zero only if all components of a vector are zero."

True.

Why do you think a human needs only one egg at a time
babunello [35]
Because we can reproduce with just one and if more eggs were released, the female reproductive life (which is 40 years) would be shorter and so there would be less time for every female human to reproduce since the amount of eggs is limited. (Also fraternal twins come from 2 eggs released at the same time)

Question 2 Ammonium phosphate NH43PO4 is an important ingredient in many fertilizers. It can be made by reacting phosphoric acid
Mama L [17]

Answer:

The answer is 12.27 g (NH4)3PO4

Explanation:

Step 1: balance the chemical equation:

H3PO4 + 3NH3 → (NH4)3PO4

step 2: the molar masses of each of the reagents and products are calculated using the periodic table:

H3PO4:

3 atoms of H: 3x1=3 g/mol

1 atom of P: 1x30.97=30.97 g/mol

4 atoms of O: 4x16=64 g/mol

Molar mass=3+30.97+64=97.97 g/mol

3NH3:

3 atoms of N: 3x14=42 g/mol

9 atoms of H: 9x1=9 g/mol

Molar mass=42+9=51 g/mol

(NH4)3PO4:

3 atoms of N: 3x14=42 g/mol

12 atoms of H: 12x1=12 g/mol

1 atom of P: 1x30.97=30.97 g/mol

4 atoms of O: 4x16=64 g/mol

Molar mass=42+12+30.97+64=148.97 g/mol

we make a rule of three to calculate the amount of ammonium phosphate:

51 g NH3------------------148.97 g (NH4)3PO4

4.2 g NH3-----------------x g (NH4)3PO4

Clearing the x, we have:

x g (NH4)3PO4 = \frac{(4.2 g NH3)x(148.97 g (NH4)3PO4)}{51 g NH3}=12.27 g (NH4)3PO4

What do elements in the same group have?
Natalija [7]
The same number of electron shells, the atomic number is given to each individual element, same as the atomic mass, and properties have nothing to do with groups
