Answer: Let us assume that the number of months after which

the gym memberships will cost the same = x

Then

15 + 10x = 40 + 4x

10x - 4x = 40 - 15

6x = 25

x = 25/6

 = 4 1/6

So the membership fee of both the gyms will become same after 4 1/6 months. You can also consider that as after 5 months the membership fees of both the gyms will become same. I hope the procedure is not very complicated for you to understand.

Step-by-step explanation: Hope this helps!!

3241004551 [841]

Answer:

h  =  16 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Pythagoras´ theorem establishes, that in a right triangle square of the hypothenuse (c²) is the sum of leg ( b²)  plus  leg  (a²)

Then

c²  =  a²  +  b²

where according to the problem statement

(20)²  =  h²  +  (12)²           (  h is the height of the flagpole )

h²  =  400 -  144

h²  =  256

h  =  √ 256

h  =  16 feet

Question 3
crimeas [40]

Answer:

D = 141

Step-by-step explanation:

The given quadratic equation is

5x^2+9x=3\\\\5x^2+9x-3=0.

It is required to find the value of the discriminant. The value of discriminant  of any quadratic equation is given by :

D=b^2-4ac

Here, a = 5, b = 9 and c = -3

On plugging all the values, we get :

D=(9)^2-4\times 5\times (-3)\\\\D=141

So, the value of discriminant for y is 141.
