When calculating molar mass , can you round it or it has to be specific ?
Vlada [557]
For many (but not all) problems, you can simply round the atomic weights and the molar mass to the nearest 0.1 g/mole. HOWEVER, make sure that you use at least as many significant figures in your molar mass as the measurement with the fewest significant figures. In other words, never let your molar mass be the measured value that determines how many signficant figures to use in your answer!

Researchers can use solvents to extract, or break apart, components of a cell or tissue to separate and/or isolate components. I
Tems11 [23]

The cell membrane which is more fat permeable will be present at the end of the process.

Solvent extraction is a very important method if separating mixtures. The principle of solvent extraction is based on the idea of like dissolves like. A substance dissolves in the component of the system in which it is most soluble.

If a cell extract is dissolved in a nonpolar solvent, the cell membrane which is mostly permeable to nonpolar molecules will dissolve most in the solvent.

What is the standard potential, e∘celle∘cell, for this galvanic cell? use the given standard reduction potentials in your calcul
Olin [163]

The standard potential for the given galvanic cell is 0.477 V

What is electrode potential?

The electrode potential is the electromotive force of a galvanic cell built using a standard reference electrode and another electrode whose potential is to be found.

There are two types of electrode potential

Oxidation potential - The potential associated with oxidation reaction is known as oxidation potential

Reduction potential - The potential associated with reduction reaction is known as reduction potential

At the anode, oxidation occurs

Sn(s)\rightarrow Sn^{2+}(aq)+2e^-

At the cathode, reduction occurs

Cu^{2+}(aq)+2e^-\rightarrow Cu(s)

E^o_{cell} =E^o_{cathode} -E^o_{anode}

        = 0.337 - (-0.140)

        = 0.477 V

Thus, The standard potential for the given galvanic cell is 0.477 V

Question: What is the standard potential, E∘cell, for this galvanic cell? Use the given standard reduction potentials in your calculation as appropriate.

Sn^{2+}(aq)+2e^-\rightarrow Sn(s), E°red=−0.140 V

Cu^{2+}(aq)+2e^-\rightarrow Cu(s), E°red=+0.337 V
