Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area is the total surface.  So first, find each surface...two triangles, same size and three rectangles, same size.

So you will have to add each....triangle+triangle+rectangle+rectangle+rectangle.

Area of a triangle = 1/2(b)(h)               with b=base and h=height

Plug in knowns         1/2(15)(13)=A

Multiply 15X13=195  Then divide by 2.  195/2=97.5

The area of each triangle is 97.5 yd.

Area of a rectangle = (L)(W)                  with L=Length and W=Width

Plug in knowns          (15)(24)=A             Now, multiply

15X24=360

The area of each rectangle is 360 yd.

We need to add two triangles for front and back. and three rectangls.

97.5+97.5+360+360+360=1275

Surface area is 1,275 yd.

solve 6/x -4 = 4/x for x and determine if the solution is extraneous or not. x = −8, extraneous x = −8, non-extraneous x = 8, ex
disa [49]
\frac{6}{x-4} = \frac{4}{x} \\ 6x=4(x-4)=4x-16 \\ 2x=-16 \\ x=-8
To check: 6/(-8-4) = 4/-8
6/-12 = 4/-8
1/-2 = 1/-2
Therefore, <span>x = −8, non-extraneous</span>

Domain and range of the graph, is it a function?
Elenna [48]

Answer:

  • domain: [0, ∞)
  • range: (-∞, ∞)
  • not a function

Step-by-step explanation:

The arrows indicate the graph continues indefinitely in the direction indicated.

The domain is the horizontal extent, so is the interval from 0 to infinity, including 0.

The range is the vertical extent, so extends from negative infinity to positive infinity (all real numbers).

The graph does not pass the vertical line test: a vertical line intersects it in more than one place, so the relation is NOT a function.
