If I change the volume of a solution from 5.00 L to 10.0 L, what was the new

Chemistry

The new concentration = 2 M

Further explanation

Dilution is a process of decreasing the concentration of a solution by adding a number of solvents

Can be formulated

M₁V₁=M₂V₂

M₁ = Initial Molarity

V₁ = Initial volume

M₂ = Final Molarity (after dilution)

V₂ = Final volume (after dilution)

V₁=5 L

V₂=10 L

M₁=4 M

The new concentration(M₂) :

\tt M_2=\dfrac{V_1.M_1}{V_2}\\\\M_2=\dfrac{5\times 4}{10}\\\\M_2=2~M

The molecular mass of a substance is defined as the mass of how many molecules of the substance
vredina [299]

Answer:

Explanation: The molar mass of a substance is defined as the mass of 1 mol of that substance, expressed in grams per mole, and is equal to the mass of 6.022 × 10 23 atoms, molecules, or formula units of that substance

Part A
Roman55 [17]

These are two questions and two answers

Question 1.

Answer:

 • 7.33 × 10 ⁻³ c

Explanation:

1) Data:

a) m = 9.11 × 10⁻³¹ kg

b) λ = 3.31 × 10⁻¹⁰ m

c) c = 3.00 10⁸ m/s

d) s = ?

2) Formula:

The wavelength (λ), the speed (s), and the mass (m) of the particles are reltated by the Einstein-Planck's equation:

 • λ = h / (m.s)

 • h is Planck's constant: h= 6.626×10⁻³⁴J.s

3) Solution:

Solve for s:

 • s = h / (m.λ)

Substitute:

 • s = 6.626×10⁻³⁴J.s / ( 9.11 × 10⁻³¹ kg × 3.31 × 10⁻¹⁰ m) = 2.20 × 10 ⁶ m/s

To express the speed relative to the speed of light, divide by c = 3.00 10⁸ m/s

 • s = 2.20 × 10 ⁶ m/s / 3.00 10⁸ m/s = 7.33 × 10 ⁻³

Answer: s = 7.33 × 10 ⁻³ c

Question 2.

Answer:

 • 2.06 × 10 ⁻³⁴ m.

Explanation:

1) Data:

a) m = 45.9 g (0.0459 kg)

b) s = 70.0 m/s

b) λ = ?

2) Formula:

Macroscopic matter follows the same Einstein-Planck's equation, but the wavelength is so small that cannot be detected:

 • λ = h / (m.s)

 • h is Planck's constant: h= 6.626×10⁻³⁴J.s

3) Solution:

 • λ = h / (m.s)

Substitute:

 • λ = 6.626×10⁻³⁴J.s / ( 0.0459 kg × 70.0 m/s) = 2.06 × 10 ⁻³⁴ m

As you see, that is tiny number and explains why the wave nature of the golf ball is undetectable.

Answer: 2.06 × 10 ⁻³⁴ m.

If a propane heater burns 38.95 g C3H8, it consumes?
AVprozaik [17]

The balanced chemical reaction will be:

C3H8 + 5O2 = 3CO2 +4H2O

We are given the amount of propane gas to be burned. This will be our starting point.

38.95 g C3H8 ( 1 mol C3H8 / 44.1 g C3H8 ) ( 5 mol O2/1 mol C3H8)(32 g O2 / 1 mol O2) =141.32 g O2

Therefore, the reaction consumes approximately 142 grams of oxygen gas.
