How do I find the inverse of the function? Also, is it a function and why?

Mathematics

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Essentially, begin by flipping the x and y terms:

x = (1 - 2y)^2 + 5

Then, solve for y:

\ x = (1-2y)^2 + 5\\\sqrt{x-5} = 1 - 2y\\\sqrt{x-5} - 1 = 2y\\\frac{\sqrt{x-5} - 1}{2} = y^-1\\

Because we know there is only 1 y-value for any given x-value, the inverse of the given function is also a function.

To prove that objects of different weights fall at the same
enot [183]

Answer:

y = 1609 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

g is equal to 9,8 m/s²     or 32,18 ft/s²

According to g = 32,18 ft/s²

In the first second      as  y = -1/2 g*t²

y  = 1/2 32,18*(1)²       ⇒  y  = 16,9 ft           we dismiss the sign we know the object is falling down. Is enough for the purpose of this question

The second one

y  = 1/2* (32,18)* (2)²

y = 32,18*2          ⇒    y = 64,36 ft

third second

y = 1/2*32,18*(3)²     ⇒  y  = 144,81 ft

And in the  tenth second

y =( 1/2)* 32,18 * (10)²      ⇒    y = 1609 ft

When may it be a good idea to use scientific notation for si prefixes?
Ray Of Light [21]
I believe SI is the international system of measurements, our metric system. You would want to use this when numbers begin to get too small, or too large. Some examples would be when calculating distances of spacial bodies such as  the distance from earth to the center of the milky way which is about <span>1,000,000,000,000,000,000 km  or 1*10^18. 1*10^18 is easier to write and is less confusing.</span>
