5 donuts and 2 cups of hot Chocolate costs 24$. 2 donuts and 3 cups of hot chocolate costs 14$.How much does each donut and each
Allushta [10]

Answer:cost of each donut =$4

and cost of each cup of hot chocolate =$2

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1

Let donuts be represented as d

and cups of hot chocolate be rep as c so that

5 donuts and 2 cups of hot Chocolate costing 24$ will be expressed as

5 d+ 2 c= 24

And 2 donuts and 3 cups of hot chocolate costing 14$ will be expressed as

2d +3 c= 14

Step 2

Using elimination method,Multiply equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by 2

15d+ 6c= 72----equation 3

4d+ 6c= 28-----equation 4

Subtracting equation 4 from equation 3 gives us

11 d=44

d= 44/11

d= 4

To find c, using equation 1

5 d+ 2 c= 24

5 x 4+ 2c=24

20+2c=24

2c=24-20

2c=4

c=4/2 =2

cost of each donut =$4

and cost of each cup of hot chocolate =$2

The outside edges of the walkway form a rectangle whose length and width are proportional to the sides of the garden, increased
Allisa [31]

The length and the width of the outside edge of the garden will be ( 6x + 12 ) and ( 9x + 6 ) respectively.

What is the scale factor?

In mathematics, a scale factor is the proportion of related dimensions of an object to a description of that object.

Given that:-

 • The outside edges of the walkway form a rectangle whose length and width are proportional to the sides of the garden, increased by a scale factor of 3. the sides of the garden are (2x+4) and (3x+2)

The length and width of the outside edge will be:-

The sides are Dilated by factor 3 so the edges of the rectangle will be calculated as;-

Length = 3 ( 2x+4 ) = 6x + 12

Width = 3 ( 3x+2 ) = 9x + 6

Therefore the length and the width of the outside edge of the garden will be ( 6x + 12 ) and ( 9x + 6 ) respectively.

mixer [17]
For 1 year, the house appreciates $4375 (3.5% of 125,000). Therefore after 10 years, $4375(10) = $43750. $125,000+ $43750 = $168,750.
