Answer:

C. Bacteria and Archaea

Explanation:

Both are part of what was formerly known as Monera Kingdom.

The differences between the Archea and Bacteria kingdoms lie in the fact that the former have no peptide glycans in the cell wall, can produce methane as a residue of metabolism, and can survive in extreme living environments such as volcanic craters and extremely saline regions.

Bacteria are represented by bacteria, cyanobacteria, rickettsiae (tiny intracellular parasites!) And mycoplasmas (the smallest self-replicating organisms). As for bacteria, the plasma membrane is covered by the cell wall and, in some species, there is the presence of a capsule. It is the cell wall that helps in the classification of bacteria, since they are responsible for disease susceptibility and staining by the Gram method. Gram-positive are sulfa-sensitive and have a basically single-layer wall, staining violet in Gram Stain; Gram-negatives are penicillin-sensitive, have a two-layer wall, and turn pink when stained. The latter are considered more dangerous since their walls are less permeable to antibiotics.

Which of the following is a correct difference between active transport and facilitated diffusion?
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

Active transport requires energy from ATP while facilitated diffusion does not

Explanation:

Active transport and facilitated diffusion with the use of channel and carrier proteins are both ways by which ions, polar and large molecules cross a selectively permeable membrane.

The major difference is that; Active transport transport these particles from a low to high concentration, which is against concentration gradient and hence, energy is required to perform the task

Facilitated diffusion transport from a high to low concentration, which is through a concentration gradient and hence, no energy is required to perform the task.

How does artificial selection provide evidence for evolution by natural selection
Cloud [144]

Answer:

Natural selection is one of the mechanisms by which an organism evolve. In the natural selection when the trait of an organism allows the organism to grow and reproduce in an environment and nature selects it, it is then passed on to the generations and become permanent.

Artificial selection is also one of the mechanism of evolution in which instead of nature, the selection is made by humans like the breeding experiments on dogs and plant crops.

The artificial selection and natural selection are interlinked as in the artificial selection the trait selected by the humans were also selected by nature like the case of crops, the crossing between desired plants produced results which were useful to the humans but grew and reproduced only when the environment selected it to grow and reproduce.
