The way I perceive this is it's basically saying how you act under pressure, or stress, can transform your experience with it for either the good or bad. For example, stress is a chain reaction for some people. That stress leads to a series of negative emotions (their stress leads to this, then this leads to that, etc.). It's basically saying when you choose to view your experience with it and notice the lesson or help in it, it can completely transform your experience with it for the better. Then once you have that down and can finally connect with others even in that moment of stress, you then possess the ability to turn that situation positive, or be less susceptible to any negative reaction linked to it. A standard contains a known amount of a substance. If u are performing an experiment you will use a sample with a known concentration to create a standard curve (a straight line). Positive and negative controls are measured against the standard curve to show the expected results if the sample u will be testing is positive or negative.
