A 30-cm-diameter, 90-cm-high vertical cylindrical container is partially filled with 60-cm-high water. Now the cylinder is rotat

ed at a constant angular speed of 180 rpm. Determine how much the liquid level at the center of the cylinder will drop as a result of this rotational motion.

Answer:

\triangle h_c =0.204m

Explanation:

Diameter d=30cm

Height h=90cm

Fill height h_f=60cm

Angular speed N=180rpm

Generally the equation for Angular velocity is mathematically given by

\omega=\frac{2 \pi*N}{60}

\omega=\frac{2 \pi*180}{60}

\omega=18.85rads/s

Generally the equation for Liquid surface is mathematically given by

\mu_s=h*\frac{\omega^2*0.15^2}{4*9.81}

\mu_s=0.396m

Therefore the liquid drop at center due to rotation is

\triangle h_c =h-\mu_s

\triangle h_c =0.60-0.396

\triangle h_c =0.204m

What type of relationship exists between acceleration and mass?
likoan [24]
Here, you can derive that by numerical method, as follows:
F = m.a
m = F/a

So, here we can see when we decrease one, other increase by same effect; we can say they are "Indirectly Proportional" to each other!

Hope this helps!

An airplane travels east at an air speed of 400.0 m/s into a head wind of 35.0 m/s. What is the airplane's ground speed?
mezya [45]

Velocity of the plane relative to the air = +400.0 m/s

Velocity of the air relative to the ground = -35.0 m/s (negative because it's moving opposite to the eastward direction)

Velocity of the plane relative to the ground = (velocity of the plane relative to the air) + (velocity of the air relative to the ground) = 365.0 m/s to the east

Which statement is true?
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

A. Speed is a scalar quantity and velocity is a vector quantity.

Explanation:

A scalar quantity is one that consists of only a numerical value.

Speed is a scalar quantity because only the instantaneous value is indicated, for example the speedometer of a car that tells you your speed at the moment but not where you are going or in what direction are you going.

On the other hand, velocity is a vector quantity. Because it is composed of a <u>magnitude and a direction</u>, for example 10m/s to the south is a velocity, and 10m/s is a speed.

Viktor [21]

Answer:

They are standing 3 feet away from each other

Explanation:

If Nathan Is standing 2 feet away from the mirror. Then Hiva is standing 7 feet away from the mirror is she is standing 5 feet further than him. They are standing 3 feet away from each other.

A soccer ball is kicked with an initial velocity 13 m/s at an angle of 35 degrees from the horizontal. What is the maximum heigh
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

The maximum height reached by the ball is 2.84 m

Explanation:

Given;

initial velocity of the soccer, u = 13 m/s

angle of projection, θ = 35°

The maximum height reached by the ball = ?

Apply the following kinematic equation, to determine the maximum height reached by the ball.

Maximum height (H) is given as;

H = \frac{U^2sin^2\theta}{2g} \\\\H = \frac{(13)^2(sin \ 35^0)^2}{2*9.8}\\\\H = 2.84 \ m

Therefore, the maximum height reached by the ball is 2.84 m
