What is another name for a compound known as a salt? Molecule Covalent compound Element Ionic compound
emmainna [20.7K]
Take a look at their electronegativity values for this one. Electronegativity is the relative attraction that a atom in a molecule has for the shared pair of electrons in a covalent bond. Salt is Sodium Chloride which is NaCl. Na has an electronegativity value of 0.93. Cl has an electronegativity value of 3.16. The difference between the two is 2.23. This is much higher than 1.7 (a pure covalent bond e.g. Oxygen-Oxygen bond O2) therefore it is a highly ionic compound. If this was less than 1.7 it would be a polar covalent molecule.

HELP ME 99+ POINTS!!! Describe which renewable resources are used primarily to produce electricity and which renewable resources
NikAS [45]
renewable resources are used primarily to produce electricity include wind and hydro-electric power. they require large mechanical structures e.g. wind turbine and water dam in order to generate electric energy. Therefore they are not appropriate for home use.

renewable resources are readily used as heat sources for homes include solar-water heating system in which water is heated by sunlight and circulated around the house. Wood burning for heat can also be considered a renewable resource as long as the wood comes from a sustainable logging cycle.
