Answer:

Month since April                                   Number of Ants

          0                                                         10,000

           1                                                         30,000

          2                                                         90,000

          3                                                        270,000

          4                                                         810,000

Every month, the ant population triples so the multiply the previous population by 3 to find out the new population.

0 months from April = 10,000 * 1 = 10,000 ants

1 month from April = 10,000 * 3 = 30,000 ants

2 months from April = 30,000 * 3 = 90,000 ants

3 months from April = 90,000 * 3 = 270,000 ants

4 months from April = 270,000 * 3 = 810,000

Allisa [31]

Answer:

Area of shaded region=41 square feet

Area of non shaded region= 87 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

As, Shaded area is made of different shapes including two rectangles and one triangle

So,

Area of shaded region,

=(8\times2)+(10\times 1)+(\frac{1}{2}\times 3\times10)\\\\ =16+10+15=41 \quad \text{square feet}

Area of non shaded region=total area of rectangular region-Shaded region

=(16\times 8)-(41)\\=128-41\\=87 \quad \text{square feet}

What is the Quotient of 1 and 2/3 divided by 2 and 3/5
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

  25/39

Step-by-step explanation:

For division of mixed numbers, it often works well to first convert them to improper fractions. Then the division proceeds in the usual way: "invert and multiply", or "dot, swap."

__

  1\dfrac{2}{3}\div2\dfrac{3}{5}=\dfrac{5}{3}\div\dfrac{13}{5}=\dfrac{5}{3}\cdot\dfrac{5}{13}\\\\=\dfrac{5\cdot5}{3\cdot13}=\boxed{\dfrac{25}{39}}
