Answer:

This is a linear function because the power of x is 1. Because of the +40 it's not a proportional relationship (they are in the form y = kx but the given equation is not) so the answer is the second option.

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Plug in a x-value and see which table matches the result.  Plug in 1.

f(x) = 7 - 4.5x

f(1) = 7 - 4.5(1)

f(1) = 7 - 4.5

f(1) = 2.5

The table that matches an input of 1 with an output of 2.5 is B.

Solve.
Serggg [28]

Answer:

The solution is (4, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Using Linear combination method to solve:

2d + e = 8\\d - e = 4\\

Since "e" have the same coefficient in both equation with opposite operator; we will add.

(2d + d) + (e - e) = (8 + 4)\\3d = 12\\

Divide both side by coefficient of d which is 3

\frac{3d}{3}  = \frac{12}{3} \\d = 4\\

Since d = 4; put 'd' into any of the equation to get 'e'

2d + e = 8\\2(4) + e = 8\\8 + e = 8\\e = 8 - 8\\e = 0\\

Therefore, the solution is (4, 0)

Find an equation for the line perpendicular to y = − 1 /9 x + 4 with x-intercept at x = -1
prisoha [69]
Y = (-1/9).x + 4
The slope m of the line perpendicular to y = (-1/9).x + 4 is equal to 9:
(if the product of 2 slopes = - 1, then the 2 lines are perpendicular)

y = 9x + b, Since it passes by the point (-1,0) , then:
 0= 9(-1) + b and b = 9
Final equation:

y = 9x+9
