An individual consumes products X and Y and spends $36 per time period. The prices of the two goods are $3 per unit for X and $2

per unit for Y. The consumer in this case has a utility function expressed as:
U(X,Y) = .5XY

a. Express the budget equation mathematically by plugging in the given information. Use capital letters and a single space between operators.

b. Determine the values of X and Y that will maximize utility.

c. Determine the total utility that will be generated per unit of time for this individual. (no decimals)

Answer:

a) 3X + 2Y = 36

b) X = 6 , Y = 9

c) 27

Explanation:

Individual consumes : X and Y

Spends : $36 per time period

unit cost : $3 per unit for X

                 $2 per unit for Y

utility function : U( X, Y ) = .5XY

<u>A) Budget equation mathematically</u>

X* Px + Y* Py = M

3X + 2Y = 36

Px and Py = unit cost for X and Y

M = Total spent ( revenue )

<u>b) Values of X and Y that will maximize utility </u>

Maximum utility ( MRS )  = Px / Py ,

MRS = MUx / MUy

 = Y/X  = 3/2

∴ 2Y = 3X

From BC : 6X = 36 ( X = 6 plug into mathematically equation above )

∴ X = 6 , hence Y = 9

<u>c) Total utility generated per unit of time </u>

U( X,Y ) = .5XY

            = 0.5 * 6 * 9 = 27

Kiley Electronics is considering a project that has the following cash flow data. What is the project's IRR? Note that a project
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

d. 13.31%

Explanation:

IRR is the rate at which NPV = 0

IRR 13.31%

Year                                      0            1              2                3

Cash flow stream               -1100.000    450.000   470.000    490.000

Discounting factor                    1.000       1.133        1.284         1.455

Discounted cash flows project  -1100.000 397.136 366.060 336.804

NPV = Sum of discounted cash flows

NPV Project = 0.000

Where

Discounting factor = (1 + discount rate)^(Corresponding period in years)

Discounted Cashflow = Cash flow stream/discounting factor

IRR  = 13.31%

Therefore, The project's IRR is 13.31%

What is the main difference between the natural hazards disclosure statement and the real property transfer disclosure statement
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

the transfer disclosure statement is limited to information that the seller has, while the natural hazards disclosure requires additional research

Explanation:

Both of these statements are prepared by the seller. The transfer disclosure statement has requirement for just declaration of obvious latent defects. It is limited to information that the seller has, while the natural hazards disclosure statement requires divulging if the property is in a zone known to be risky based on government maps. Therefore it requires additional research.
