<u>We are given:</u>Distance covered by the fastest man in 9 seconds = 100m

<u>To Find: </u>The distance covered in 1 min 2 seconds or 62 seconds

<u>Finding the Speed of the man:</u>

We know that:

speed = distance covered / time taken

Speed = 100 / 9          <em>(we are given that he travels 100 m in 9 seconds)</em>

Speed = 11.11 m/s

<u>Distance travelled in 62 seconds:</u>

We know that:

distance covered = speed * time

<em>replacing the value of speed and time</em>

Distance = 11.11 * 62

Distance = 688.82 m

A fair coin is tossed three times in succession. Find the probability if getting exactly one tail
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

If a fair coin is tossed three times, sample = 2^3 = 8 (hhh, hht, hth, thh, htt, tht, tth, ttt) where h=head and t=tail.

Probability of getting one:

Outcomes with one head (h) = 3

P(1 h) = 3/8 = 0.375

how many pounds of candy worth $12 per pound should be mixed with candy costing $19 per pound to produce a 70 pound mixture that
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

40 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Cost of a candy (c_1)= \$ 12 per pound

           Cost of candy (c_2) = \$ 19\ per\ pound

           Total amount of mixture of be produced = 70\ pound

           Selling price of mixture = \$ 15 \ per\ pound

Let´s x be the amount of c_1 to be mixed in the mixture.

∴ Cost of c_1 in the mixture = 12x

Next, Cost of c_2 in the mixture = (70 - x)\times 19

And we know the cost of final mixture = 70 \times 15 = 1050

Now, putting all the value in the equation

⇒ 12x + 19 \times (70 - x) = 1050

⇒ 1330 - 7x = 1050

⇒ -7x = -280

∴ x = 40\ pound

∴ 40 pounds of candy worth $12 per pound to be mixed in the mixture.

Help asap will give brainliest!!!!
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

ley y = f(x) and rearrange making x the subject

y = \frac{1}{x+5} - 1 ( add 1 to both sides )

y + 1 = \frac{1}{x+5} ( multiply both sides by (x + 5)

(y + 1)(x + 5) = 1 ← expand factors using FOIL

xy + 5y + x + 5 = 1 , that is

xy + x + 5y + 5 = 1 ( factor first/second and third/fourth terms on left side )

x(y + 1) + 5(y + 1) = 1 ← factor out (y + 1) from each term on left side

(y + 1)(x + 5) = 1 ( divide both sides by (y + 1) )

x + 5 = \frac{1}{y+1} ( subtract 5 from both sides )

x = \frac{1}{y+1} - 5

Change y back into terms of x with x = f^{-1} (x) , then

f^{-1} (x) = \frac{1}{x+1} - 5 where x ≠ - 1
