Which one of the next salts is the most soluble in water, if: Ksp (BaCO3) = 5.1 • 10-9 mol2 / l2; Ksp (CaCO3) = 4.8 • 10-9 mol2

Answer:

Explanation:

Ksp (BaCO₃) = 5.1 x  10⁻⁹

Ksp (CaCO₃) = 4.8 x  10⁻⁹

Ksp (BaSO₄) = 1.1 x  10⁻¹⁰ = .11 x 10⁻⁹

Since solubility product of BaCO₃ is  greatest , its solubility is maximum .It is to be noted that all of them will be giving only two number of ions after dissolution in water .

BaCO₃ = Ba⁺ + CO₃⁻

Ksp = [ Ba⁺²] [ CO₃⁻² ]

= [ Ba⁺²]²

[ Ba⁺²] = √ Ksp

similarly we can find equations for others .

5. Given the cell notation Cu(s)|Cu2+(aq)||Ag+(aq)|Ag(s), what is the half-reaction that occurs at the anode?
Nataly_w [17]

What is [H+] given that the measured cell potential is -0.464 V and the anode reduction ... What half-reaction occurs at the cathode during the electrolysis of molten ... PbO2(s) + 4H+(aq) + SO42-(aq) + 2e- → PbSO4(s) + 2H2O(l); E° = 1.69 V .... For the cell Cu(s)|Cu2+||Ag+|Ag(s), the standard cell potential is 0.46 V. A cell ... hopw this helps

How many grams of o2 are required to produce 358.5 grams of zno? 2zn + o2 ® 2zno?
Murrr4er [49]
The balanced equation for the reaction is ;
2Zn + O2 —> 2ZnO
The stoichiometry of O2 to ZnO is 1:2
The mass of ZnO formed - 358.5 g
The number of moles formed - 358.5 g / 81.4 g/mol = 4.4 moles
Therefore number of O2 moles reacted = 4.4 moles /2 = 2.2 mol
Mass of O2 reacted = 2.2 mol x 32 g/mol = 70.4 g

Helium does not usually react with other substances. Does this mean that helium has no chemical properties? Explain.
Sedaia [141]
Everything has chemical properties it depends on the reactivity and the reactivity of the other element and what form it is in
