Suppose we have a cake, and one of your companions, Mary, is hungry, so she takes 2/5 of one cake. Then, your other friend, Bella, takes 4/5 of the cake.
Then you compare the cakes. Who has less, Mary or Bella?
That's right, Mary.
So 2/5 is less than 4/5.
