Answer:

The noble gases are the least reactive of all the elements but the heavier ones do form some molecules. Helium and neon never form molecules. They have completely filled electron shells with no have-filled orbitals available for making covalent bonds and they have very high ionization energies so they don't form ions.

What is the frequency of a light that has a wavelength of 3.0 x 10 -7m?
alexdok [17]

Answer:

 frequency of light (f) = 1 x 10¹⁵s⁻¹

Explanation:

Given Data:

Wavelength of light λ = 3.0 x10⁻⁷m

Frequency of light: to be calculated

Formula Used to find frequency:

                                  f = V/λ ........................... (1)

where

f is the frequency

V is the velocity

λ is wavelength

Velocity of light = 3 x 10⁸ ms⁻¹

put the values in equation (1)

                                     f =  3 x 10⁸ ms⁻¹ / 3.0 x10⁻⁷m

                                     f = 1 x 10¹⁵s⁻¹

   So the frequency of light =  1 x 10¹⁵s⁻¹

Can someone help me please
Nutka1998 [239]

Answer: The pH of the substance is 8.25. The solution is basic.

Explanation:

pH or pOH is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of a solution.

pH is calculated by taking negative logarithm of hydronium ion concentration. The acids have pH ranging from 1 to 6.9 , salts have pH of 7 and bases have pH ranging from 7.1 to 14.

pH=-\log [H_3O^+]

Putting in the values:

pH=-\log[5.6\times 10^{-9}]

pH=8.25

Thus as pH is more than 7, the solution is basic.

The pH of the substance is 8.25. The solution is basic.

Balance the equations
OLga [1]

Answer: a) H_3PO_4+3NaOH\rightarrow Na_3PO_4+3H_2O

b) PCl_3+3H_2O\rightarrow P(OH)_3+3HCl

c) 2Al+3H_2SO_4\rightarrow Al_2(SO_4)_3+3H_2

Explanation:

According to the law of conservation of mass, mass can neither be created nor be destroyed. Thus the mass of products has to be equal to the mass of reactants. The number of atoms of each element has to be same on reactant and product side.

The balanced chemical equations are :

H_3PO_4+3NaOH\rightarrow Na_3PO_4+3H_2O

PCl_3+3H_2O\rightarrow P(OH)_3+3HCl

2Al+3H_2SO_4\rightarrow Al_2(SO_4)_3+3H_2
