Answer:

There are four main types of communication we use on a daily basis: Verbal, nonverbal, written and visual.

Explanation:

1. Verbal communication is the use of language to transfer information through speaking or sign language. It is one of the most common types, often used during presentations, video conferences and phone calls, meetings and one-on-one conversations. Verbal communication is important because it is efficient.  2. Nonverbal communication is the use of body language, gestures and facial expressions to convey information to others. It can be used both intentionally and unintentionally.Nonverbal communication is helpful when trying to understand others’ thoughts and feelings.  3. Written communication is the act of writing, typing or printing symbols like letters and numbers to convey information. It is helpful because it provides a record of information for reference. Writing is commonly used to share information through books, pamphlets, blogs, letters, memos and more. 4. Visual communication is the act of using photographs, art, drawings, sketches, charts and graphs to convey information. Because people have different learning styles, visual communication might be more helpful for some to consume ideas and information.

How is the wavelength of a sound affected when (a) a sound source moves toward a stationary observer and (b) the observer moves
Westkost [7]

Answer:

If the observer is stationary but the source moves toward the observer at a speed vs, the observer still intercepts more waves per second and the frequency goes up. This time it is the wavelength of the wave received by the observer that is effectively shifted by the motion, rather than the speed.

Only 35 % of the intensity of a polarized light wave passes through a polarizing filter. What is the angle between the electric
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

The angle between the electric field and the axis of the filter is 54⁰

Explanation:

Apply the equation for intensity of light through a polarizer.

I = I_oCos^2 \theta

where;

I is the intensity of the transmitted light

I₀ is the intensity of the incident light

θ is the incident angle

If only 35 % of the intensity of a polarized light wave passes through a polarizing filter, then the ratio of the intensity of the transmitted light to that of the intensity of the incident light is given by;

\frac{I}{I_o}  = Cos^2 \theta\\\\\frac{35}{100} =  Cos^2 \theta\\\\Cos^2 \theta = 0.35\\\\Cos\theta = \sqrt{0.35} \\\\Cos\theta = 0.5916\\\\\theta = Cos^{-1}(0.5916)\\\\\theta  = 54 ^0

Therefore, the angle between the electric field and the axis of the filter is 54⁰
