On a long hike Lucy drank 6 pints of water. How much is this in quarts?
Ostrovityanka [42]

On a long hike Lucy drank 6 pints of water, which is equal to 3 quarts.

What is quarts?

An English measurement of volume equal to one-quarter gallon is the quart. There are now three different types of quarts in use: the liquid quart, dry quart, and imperial quart of the British imperial system. One liter is roughly equivalent to each. It is divided into four cups or two pints (in the US). The precise dimensions of the quart have historically changed in line with shifting values of gallons over time and in relation to various commodities.

A measure of liquid capacity that is equal to two pints or a quarter of a gallon, or roughly 0.94 liter in the US and 1.13 liter in the UK.

Since, 1 quart = 2 pints

Therefore by unitary method we can say,

2pint= 1 quart

6pint= 3quarts

The population mean annual salary for environmental compliance specialists is about $63,500. A random sample of 35 specialists i
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

0.003

Step-by-step explanation:

By formula we know that:

z (x) = (x - m) / [sd / sqrt (n)]

where x is the value we want to know (60,000), m is the mean (63500), sd is the standard deviation (6100) and n is the sample size (35).

Replacing we have:

z (60000) = (60000 - 63500) / [6100 / sqrt (35)]

z = -3.39

If we look in the normal distribution table (attached), we have that the probability is 0.0003.

-7 - -3(x+3)>5 how do I work this problem
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

x > 1

Step-by-step explanation:

It's actually a pretty simple algebra problem, you can pretend the > is an = for the most part. The only difference is if you ever multiply or divide by a negative you flip the direction

-7 + 3(x+3)>5 (as long as that double minus sign was accurate)

-7 + 3x + 9 > 5

2 + 3x >5

3x > 3

x > 1

Now, like I mentioned if you divide or multiply by a negative the inequality flips. so say you multiply by -1 on both sides you will get -x < -2. I just want to make sure you remember that because it can be hard to remember.
