11 minutes = 1 km

11 x 5 = 55 minutes
1 x 5 = 5 km.

She can walk 5 km in 55 minutes.

So the rate is 1:11, so if you divide  55 by 11, you get 5.  Therefore, 5 x 1 is 5, so 5 km.
