One type of carbohydrate is sugar. Sugar is a simple carb and it is made from the plant sugarcane by using an extensive refining process, or just in the natural sugars from fruits. Sugarcane sugar is often found in deserts or junk foods, such as brownies, cookies, cakes, candies, even chips. Natural sugars are found in things like apples, peaches, plums, and pears and are healthier for you than white sugar.

Another type of carbohydrate is starches. Starches are complex carbs. They are found in breads, flour, potatoes, corn, and meat. Very few starches are actually healthy for you, so you should moderate your starch consumption continuously.
