All forces on the bullets cancel so that the net force on a bullet is zero, which means the bullet has zero acceleration and is in a state known as constant velocity. The bullet is moving at a constant value of velocity. Acceleration is the rate of velocity so having zero acceleration would mean that there is no change in velocity per unit of time.<span />

A wrecking ball has a mass of 315 kg. If it is moving at a speed of 5.12 m/s, what is its kinetic energy?
zubka84 [21]
The formula for Kinetic energy is:
KE (Kinetic Energy) = 1/2 M (mass) x V (velocity) ^2

Substitute the known values into the equation:
KE = 1/2 (315) x (5.12)^2

Find out the values in sections (split the formula in half)
1/2 x 315 = 157.5
5.12^2 = 26.2144

Now times the answers together to complete the formula.
157.5 x 26.2144 = 4,128.768 km^2/s

What are the similarities and differences between meiosis and mitosis?
valentinak56 [21]

Answer: They both produce new cells, and start both with a single parent cell for similarities. For differences, Meiosis has only 8 stages in total, while mitosis is 4 stages in total. And for the Meiosis, it produces 4 haploid cells, and mitosis, only produces 2 haploid cells. These are the similarities and differences.

Hope this helped!

A 1200-kg car initially at rest undergoes constant acceleration for 9.4 s, reaching a speed of 11 m/s. It then collides with a s
Natalka [10]

To solve this problem we will apply the principle of conservation of energy and the definition of kinematic energy as half the product between mass and squared velocity. So,

KE_i = KE_f

KE_f = \frac{1}{2} mv^2

Here,

m = Mass

V = Velocity

Replacing,

KE_f = \frac{1}{2} (12000)(11)^2

KE_f = 72600J

Therefore the  final kinetic energy of the two car system is 72.6kJ

Physcs Questions from 8th grade....
scoray [572]

1).  Yes.  An object can be moving if the net force acting on the object is zero.
A non-zero net force is required to CHANGE the object's motion ... speed it up,
slow it down, or change its direction.  But no force is required to keep it moving
at a constant speed in a straight line.

2).a).  The motion of the box changes, from not moving to moving.
So the forces acting on it must be unbalanced.

2).b).  The motion of the box doesn't change.  It goes from not moving
to still not moving.  So the forces acting on it must be balanced.

2).c).  The motion of the box changes.  Its speed decreases.
So the forces acting on it must be unbalanced.
