Answer:

8 < x < 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider an angle slightly less than 180 between the 4 and 12 ft sides. The measure between the 2 end points is slightly less than the total of the two sides. So the greatest length is 16.

Consider an angle slightly more than 0 between the 4 and 12 ft sides. The measure between the 2 end points is slightly more than the difference between the two sides. So the lowest length is 8.

Mila [183]

Answer: 8

Explanation:

The rule says "whatever x is, add 1 to it to get y"

So for instance, if x = 3, then y = x+1 = 3+1 = 4

Now if x = 7, then y = x+1 = 7+1 = 8

How do you model a decimal using a fraction
stiks02 [169]
Okie dokie,
When converting a decimal, you use the place the decimal is in...
Let's review the places: tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc.
You look at the last number to determine what place you're using!
-------------------
Now here's an example for the tenths place:
.5
it's in the tenths place, right? so put it over that number (with no decimal) over a 10.
(mobile) 5/10 or \frac{5}{10}
Now, decide if you can simplify. You can! 5/10 simplifies down to 1/2.
\frac{1}{2} is your answer!
--------
Example for the hundredths place:
.26
the last number is in the hundredths place, so put the number (without a decimal) over 100!
26/100 or \frac{26}{100}
You can simplify this!
13/50 is your answer!

Calculators can also come in handy!
Good luck!

3-14 plzzz except #13 20 points!
Marianna [84]
#3: 15

#4: 13.2

#5: 5.44 (curious as to how you guessed 7)

#6: 7

#7: 7.3

#8: 15

#9: You'd round 0.9 to 1 and 3.78 to 4. 4/1 = 4

#10: Round 2.5 to 3. 36/3 = 12

#11: If they want you to round 0.25 down to 0, then 7/0 is undefined.

#12: 9.5 rounds to 10 142.5 rounds to 143. 143/10 = 14.3

#14: 24.8 cm divided by 175 = approximately 0.1417 cm per year. Round that up to approximately 0.14 per year.
