Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Solving for x means you have to factor. First factor out the GCF of 2 to get:

2(3x^2+x-6) and now we'll factor using the regular old method of ac and then factoring by grouping. In our polynomial, a = 3, b = 1, c = -6. Therefore, a times c is 3 * -6 which is -18. We need some combinations of the factors of 18 that will add to give us 1, the b term in the middle. The factors of 18 are:

1, 18

2, 9

3, 6 and that's it. Hm...it seems that won't work, so let's throw this into the quadratic formula, going back to the original and a = 6, b = 2 and c = -12:

x=\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{2^2-4(6)(-12)} }{2(6)} and

x=\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{4+288} }{12} and

x=\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{292} }{12} and

x=\frac{-2+/-\sqrt{4*73} }{12} and

x=\frac{-2+/-2\sqrt{73} }{12} which finally simplifies to

x=\frac{-1+/-\sqrt{73} }{6} No wonder that didn't factor using the traditional method of factoring! We could have found that out by finding first the value of the discriminant, but oh well!

T is greater than -15 because numbers after -15, like -16... are less than -15, so when its decreasing it gets lower. Since the questions says the temp stayed above -15, that means the temp could be -14...-13 and so on.

Multiply 2x-5y= -21 by 3 to make it 6x-15y= -63
Multiply 3x-3y= -18 by -5 to make it -15x+15y=90

This cancels the y’s out which leaves us with

6x=-63
&
-15x=90

x for 6x=-63 equals - 10.5 so x is - 10.5 and for -15x=90, x= -6

Then you plug in x into any equation you’d like to find y.

Let’s plug in - 10.5 into 6x... equation.

6(- 10.5)-15y=-63

63-15y= -63
-63 -63

-15y=0
y=0 and x= - 10.5. When you plug in this values it makes the equation true!

But the correct answer is the first one north. Sorry if I’m doing too much hahah

If I’m confusing here’s the right answer...

6x-15y= -63
-15x+15y=90

Quadratic Formula is (-b ±√(b²-4ac))/2a

With that being said:

y=2x²-5x-1 is in the correct form of ax²+bx+c

Now just plug in:

5±√(25-4(2 x-1))

5± √25+8

(5±√33)/2(2)

Answer is D

100% Sure

A circle has a diameter of 15 cm. Find the circumference. . Use 3.14 for π. Round your answer to the nearest tenth. PLEASE HELP!
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

47.1 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>The formula for finding circumference is πd. So, plug in the given values and simplify the expression:</u>

d = 15

π = 3.14

15 × 3.14 = 47.1

<u>The circumference of a circle with a diameter of 15 cm and using 3.14 as a substitute for π will be </u><u>47.1 cm</u><u>.</u>
