Answer: Some atoms of the same elements that have different atomic masses are called isotopes

Explanation:

so the atoms are the same element but different in mass. Since the isotopes have the same number of protons and electrons the isotopes have much the same chemical behavior. Since the isotopes have different numbers of neutrons the nuclear behavior differs.

1) If I have 4 moles of a gas at a pressure of 5.6 atm and a volume of 12 liters, what is the temperature?
sergey [27]

Answer:

204.8 K

Explanation:

We use the ideal gas equation:

PV = nRT

where R is the gas constant (0.082 L.atm/K.mol).

We have the following data:

n= 4 moles

P = 5.6 atm

V = 12 L

So, we introduce the data in the ideal gas equation to calculate the temperature (T):

T = PV/nR = (5.6 atm x 12 L)/(4 mol x 0.082 L.atm/K.mol) = 204.8 K ≅ -68 °C

if a geologist found two fossils of different species buried next to each other in a rock layer, he or she might hypothezise tha
vaieri [72.5K]
This would be true.

The reason why this answer would be true is because a fossil's position in the rock layers determine how long they died and were preserved. If the fossils were right next to each other, then that means both organisms were preserved at the same time.

A materials scientist has created an alloy containing aluminum, copper, and zinc, and wants to determine the percent composition
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

0.8749 grams of hydrogen gas was formed from the reaction.

Explanation:

P = Pressure of hydrogen gad= 744 Torr = 0.98 atm

(1 atm = 760 Torr)

V = Volume of hydrogen gas= 11 L

n = number of moles of hydrogen gas= ?

R = Gas constant = 0.0821 L.atm/mol.K

T = Temperature of vapor = 27.0 °C = 300.15 K

Putting values in above equation, we get:

Using an ideal gas equation:

PV=nRT

n=\frac{PV}{RT}=\frac{0.98 atm\times 11 L}{0.0821 L atm/mol K\times 300.15 K}

n = 0.4374 moles

Mass of 0.4374 moles of hydrogen gas:

0.4374 mol × 2 g/mol = 0.8749 g

0.8749 grams of hydrogen gas was formed from the reaction.
