Radiation do not require material medium to travel while convection requires material medium for travelling.

The main difference between radiation and another method for heat transfer is that radiation don't require medium for its transfer.

So, the key difference between radiation and convection is radiation do not require medium for its transaction.

A 149 turn 149 turn circular coil of radius 2.15 cm 2.15 cm is immersed in a uniform magnetic field that is perpendicular to the
adoni [48]

Answer:

Explanation:

number of turns, N = 149

radius, r = 2.15 cm

Area, A = πr² = 3.14 x 2.15 x 2.15 x 10^-4 = 1.45 x 10^-3 m^2

Change in magnetic field, ΔB = 95.5 - 50.5 = 45 mT = 45 x 10^-3 T

time, Δt = 0.165 second

induced emf

e = N x dФ/dt

where, dФ be the change in flux.

e = N x A x ΔB/Δt

e = 149 x 1.45 x 10^-3 x 45 x 10^-3 / 0.165

e = 0.058 V

Question 12 when an electrical pulse on one wire is accidentally detected on another nearby wire, this is known as _____.
Nuetrik [128]
An electric current has an associated magnetic field when the flow occurs in. This is also known as magnetic effect of current which has been observed and quantified by Ampere's Law.

Meanwhile, Current is produced in a conductor when it is moved through a magnetic field because the magnetic lines of force are applying a force on the free electrons in the conductor and causing them to move. This process of generating current in a conductor by placing the conductor in a changing magnetic field is called induction.

Hence, when a electric wire is placed nearby another wire carrying current, due to magnetic effect of current in the wire carrying electric current, current is induced in the wire. Hence the electric pulse and it is known as induction.

1. Compare and contrast the two kinds of waves.
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

Look at the diagrams for 2 and 3.

Explanation:

1. There are two ways to categorize waves.

Direction of particles of the wave:

If you need to differentiate them based on direction of particles of the waves then you have either longitudinal or transverse.

Particles of the medium of longitudinal waves move parallel to the direction or movement of the wave. On the other hand, transverse waves are waves where the particles of the medium it travels through move perpendicular to the motion of the wave.

Ability to transmit energy through a medium or vacuum

You have the mechanical wave and the electromagenetic wave (em wave).

The main difference between these two is that mechanical waves travel through a medium. Basically, they need the molecules in the medium, which collide or bump into each other to pass on the energy. An example would be sound waves.

Electromagnetic waves differ because they do not need a medium. They can travel through a vacuum. Like light waves.

2.

Crest - It is the displacement of a wave in the upwards direction. In short it is the peak or the highest point of a wave.

Trough - It is the opposite of the crest, so it is the displacement of a wave going downwards. To put it shortly, it is the depth or lowest point of a wave.

If you will get the distance between the crest and trough, you will see that it is twice the measure of the amplitude, which you will be defined later on.

Wavelength - is the distance between two crests or two troughs of two consecutive waves. It is measured in meters and goes with the direction of the wave.

Amplitude - height or depth of the crest or trough from the rest position. It is also measured in meters. It is defined as the displacement of the wave from the rest position or point.

Look at image B, to see the different parts.

3.

Standing waves are waves that vibrate vertically and have the same frequency and amplitude.

Nodes are points in the wave where the amplitude is equal to zero or at their resting point. Antinodes are points in the wave where the amplitudes are at their maximum.

Look at image C.

What is the difference in intensity for two sounds that are 40 dB apart?
Galina-37 [17]

the difference of 10 dB is considered as having 10 times the intensity, so difference of 40 dB means :

=》10 × 10 × 10 × 10

=》10000 times

so the the intensity of one sound is 10000 times the other one.
