Why use 12 grams? This is the theoretical atomic mass of the Carbon-12 isotope (6 protons and 6 neutrons). This means that the atomic mass or atomic weight (12 grams) of carbon is equal to exactly 1 mole of carbon. Lithium for instance has an atomic mass of 6.941 grams and this is equal to one mole of lithium.

Write the full ground state electron configuration of C − C− . electron configuration: Which neutral atom is isoelectronic with
stepan [7]

Answer: 1. Is2 2s2 2p3

2. Nitrogen

Explanation: The number of electron present In C = 6

But an extra electron is added since the charge on C is -1, this therefore makes the total electron 7.

1. By arrangement, the Electronic configuration is therefore;

Ans: 1s2 2s2 2p3

2. It is explained how C has 7 electrons, we can proceed then.

Neutral atom have atomic number of 7.

The element with atomic number of 7 is;

Ans: NITROGEN

Choose the molecule or compound that exhibits dispersion forces as its strongest intermolecular force. Choose the molecule or co
nadezda [96]

Answer:

O2 - exhibits dispersion forces as its strongest intermolecular force.

Explanation:

Generally speaking, all biatomic homonuclear molecules, such as N2, O2, F2, do NOT have any dipole moment: the distibution of the nuclear clouds is symmetrical. They are non-polar.

For what concerns heteronuclear molecules, it depends on their geometry.

Dispersion force ( Van der Waal)< dipole dipole < hydrogen bond

Intermolecular forces are forces of attraction between molecules/atoms based mainly on the idea of like charges repel and opposite charges attract.

Based on the polarity of the substance, the type of intermolecular forces existing between substance may be different.

KiRa [710]

Out of the following given choices:

A. Solvent

B. Polarity

C. Suspension

D. Solute

The answer is D. While the powder is the solute, the water is the solvent. Solutes dissolve in solvents while solution is the homogenous mixture of solvent and solute.
