A machine's distance mechanical advantage shows the effectiveness of the machine in moving an object a greater distance than the input distance. The equation for the distance mechanical advantage is the output distance divided by the input distance. Note: Most science books only consider force mechanical advantage. I HOPE THIS HELPS!

anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

Mg and HCl

Explanation:

Here, we want to get the combination that could be used in the production of the needed hydrogen

An important chemical property of inorganic acids is that when they react with metals, they give off hydrogen gas in conjunction with the formation of a salt

HCl is a mineral acid while Mg is a metallic substance

So the reaction between this metal and the mineral acids will give the needed hydrogen gas to be produced

When you throw a ball, the work you do to accelerate it equals the kinetic energy the ball gains. if you do twice as much work w
nata0808 [166]
It doesn't because when u threw it the first time, u notice that the ball eventually came to a stop because of the force that was acting upon it. Although when u throw it harder it will start out faster than the first time u threw it because u put more kinetic energy onto the ball. But the same thing happens with this ball that happened to the second ball, they both have a type of force acting upon them.

You have a graduated cylinder that you use to measure volume. The cylinder
ad-work [718]

Answer:

D. 21 ml

Explanation:

Since, the cylinder is marked and graduated in the intervals if 1 ml. Therefore, the values between two consecutive ml, such as between 30 ml and 31 ml can not be determined. Because, we do not have any scale in between the ml. So, the least count of this instrument is 1 ml. This graduated cylinder can give the answers to zero decimal places, accurately. And it can not determine any decimal value due to its graduating or the marking limitation. So, all the options given, contain a decimal value, except for the option D. In option D there is no decimal value, hence it is a correct answer.

D. 21 ml

A Carnot engine, operating between hot and cold reservoirs whose temperatures are 800.0 and 400.0 K, respectively, performs a ce
nalin [4]

Answer:

The ratio between W2 and W1 is

p=1.5

Explanation:

The W2/W1 ratio equals the efficiency ratio, since the heat input is constant.

Initially, the Carnot efficiency is

1 - (Tc/Th)

1 - 400/800 = 0.50

After lowering Tc, the efficiency becomes

1 - (Tc/Th)

1 - 200/800 = 0.75

So to determine the ratio between W2 and W1

W2/W1 = 0.75/0.50 = 1.5
