Answer:

The sidewalk is 2 feet wide

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the sidewalk is given as 80 square feet

The length and width of pool

including side walks will be;

10 + 2x and 6 + 2x

To get the area of the side walk

That will be area of total minus area of the pool

That will be ;

(10 + 2x)(6 + 2x) - 10(6) = 80

60 + 12x + 20x + 4x^2 - 60 = 80

4x^2 + 32x -80 = 0

x^2 + 8x -20

x^2 + 10x - 2x - 20 = 0

x(x + 10) -2(x + 10) = 0

(x-2)(x + 10) = 0

x = 2 or -10

since width cannot be negative;

The sidewalk is 2 feet wide

Graph the function f(x)=1/2 sqrt(x+1)
goldenfox [79]

The function is defined only if x+1 \geq 0 \iff x \geq -1. So, the leftmost point is x=-1, and we have

f(-1)=\frac{1}{2}sqrt(-1+1) = 0

So, the first point is (-1,0)

The three additional points seem arbitrary, so let's choose x=0,1,2. We have:

f(0)=\frac{1}{2}sqrt(0+1) = \frac{1}{2}

So, the second point is (0,\frac{1}{2})

f(1)=\frac{1}{2}sqrt(1+1) = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2}

So, the third point is (1,\frac{\sqrt{2}}{2})

f(2)=\frac{1}{2}sqrt(2+1) = \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

So, the fourth point is (2,\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2})

By the Triangle Inequality Theorem which set of side lengths could create a triangle?
Nonamiya [84]

Answer: B

Step-by-step explanation:

the sum of any two sides is bigger than the third side... so 5+9= 14, bigger than 6. 5+6=11, greater than 9. 9+6=15, bigger than 5.

A rectangular prism has a length of 5 cm, a width of 2 1/2 cm, and a expressions height of 1 1/2 cm. Which can be used to find t
Assoli18 [71]

To find the volume of a rectangular prism, we can use the formula [ V = l * w * h ]

V = 5 * 2 1/2 * 1 1/2

V = 12 1/2 * 1 1/2

V = 18 3/4cm³

Now that we know the volume, we can check each answer choice.

Option A:

5 ∙ 2 1/2 ∙ 1 1/2

12 1/2 * 1 1/2

18 3/4cm³

Option B:

12 1/2 ∙ 1 1/2

18 3/4cm³

Option C:

1 1/2(5 + 2 1/2)

1 1/2(7 1/2)

11 1/4cm³

Option D:

1/2(12 1/2 ∙ 1 1/2)

1/2(18 3/4)

9 3/8cm³

Therefore, the only correct options are A and B.

Best of Luck!

Point A(–4, 2) is reflected over the line x = 3 to create the point A'. What are the coordinates of A'?
iragen [17]
A ( - 4, 2)
Reflected over x = 3.
x = 3 is a vertical line, the point (-4, 2) is 7 units on the left side of the vertical line. When you reflect across the line to the right side we need to be 7 units away from the vertical line on the right side. 3 + 7 = 10
The x value would be 10. (10, 2)
