Answer:

To convert from mols to grams, multiply the number by the total molar mass of the compound.

To find the approximate molar mass of a compound, add up the molar masses of each element in the compound, making sure to multiply by the subscripts.

#2 for example:

First, find the molar mass of NaCl.

Molar mass of Na= 22.990g (refer to a periodic table or look it up)

Molar mass of Cl= 35.45g

22.990g + 35.45g= 58.44g

Next, convert from mols to g.

2.19 mol x 58.44g= 127.98g NaCl

To convert from grams to mols, do the same thing as mols to grams except DIVIDE instead of multiply.

#3 for example:

NaC2H3O2

Na= 22.99g

C2= 12.011 x 2 => 24.022g (multiply molar mass of C by 2 since there are 2 carbons)

Do this for the rest of the elements in the compound and add them up. The total molar mass should be approximately 82.0343g.

Next, convert from g to mol.

14.68g/82.0343g≈ 0.179 mol

Sindrei [870]

At standard temperature and pressure, these elements have very similar properties; they are all shiny, silvery-white, semi-reactive metals that have industrial and biological applications. The Alkaline Earth Metals are elements of group 2 of the periodic table, which includes beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, and radium. Moreover, group 2 elements are nonmetallic substances that are insoluble in water and heat resistant in nature.

Gaseous water molecules condense when they _______. Liquid water molecules evaporate when they _______.
ruslelena [56]

Answer : Gaseous water molecules condense when they cooled. Liquid water molecules evaporate when they heated.

Explanation :

Condensation : It is a process in which a phase changes from gaseous state to liquid state. This process occurs when the water molecules in the air cool down and they join together to form liquid water.

Evaporation : It is a process in which a phase changes from liquid state to gaseous state. This process occurs when the water is heated, the molecules in the water move and vibrate quickly that they escape into the atmosphere as water vapor.

Write out the balanced equation for the reaction that occurs when Ca and NaCl react together. You do not need to make your subsc
vivado [14]
The reaction of calcium and sodium chloride would yield to calcium chloride and sodium metal. It would be expressed as:

Ca + NaCl = CaCl2 + Na

To have the complete balanced reaction, it should be balanced where the number of each atom in the reactant side and the product side would be equal. The balanced chemical reaction would be:

Ca + 2NaCl = CaCl2 + 2Na

As we can see we have 1 calcium atom in each side, 2 sodium atom and 2 chlorine atoms in each side. This reaction is an example of a single displacement reaction where calcium displaces sodium and bonding with the chloride ion forming another salt.

In Parts I and II of the lab, what happened to the electrons of each element to produce the different colors of light? Explain y
RoseWind [281]

Answer: Electrons must be heated to emitted light. When heat was added to the elements,the electrons absorbs the energy and moves to its excited state. Once the electronstarts to fall back to a lower orbit, it emits energy in the form of light. Thedifferent lights being emitted, depends on their wavelength
